My son will be 3 years old at the end of June, and he still does NOT have his 2 front teeth. I have gone to 2 dentist- 1 said he needs surgery (this was at 2 years of age) the 2nd dentist said they will come out when they come out (this was 7 months ago)!!!
What do I do NOW.. Do I get another opinion or is there something I should do?? or just wait???

The X-Rays show that both the baby teeth and the adult teeth are present.
Did you take him to a pediatric dentist? Is it possible they just never
formed. Did anyone take x-rays to see if they even exist. There are
a few pediatric dentists in the Mt. Kisco area. Maybe his adult front
teeth will be his only front teeth. Good luck.
I guess my question would be, are the teeth there (when they do an x-ray)? If so, then why worry about it? But if it's cause for stress, then get a "tie-breaker" opinion.
As an aside, my mom didn't have her 2 front teeth until she was well over 2 years old. Her mother had been told that surgery would be required, but she thought that sounded like a painful thing to put her baby through (this was in the 50's, so I imagine anesthesia was sketchier then), so she waited. And waited. And waited. And finally, one day, she saw a little tooth there! (By the way, these were her FIRST teeth, she didn't have any others yet!) Anyhow, my mom did eventually grow all of her baby teeth and her adult teeth are beautiful. She's never had a cavity and she's nearly 60. So maybe it's nothing to worry about...
did they do xrays? If they did they should show if there are teeth there or not and they should have told u that or if u have any reason to worry? Just curious what they told u? Not too much obviously if u r asking this question. Maybe get a third opinion.L.:)
I have been toying with the idea of getting my son X-rayed. He is 26 mos. and is missing one of the front 4 on the bottom and has no I Teeth yet, although his molars came in before some of the front ones. It just seems odd to me... my daughter had all her teeth before 1 year and my son didn't started getting any until 1 year! Anyway, our pediatrician said not to worry yet... as the others were slow to come in. Although the one missing front tooth is driving me crazy!

First Question I have for you is,did you go to Dentists that either specialize in dentistry for children or see alot of very young children? By age three your child should have all their baby teeth. The lower front teeth should be there by three months and the upper front incisors should be there by six months. If it is the upper incisors that are not present it could be a extra tooth, called a mesio-dens, that is blocking the eruption of the upper incisors. Please run to a new Dentist for a third opinion!
I would go to a pediatric dentist and get another opinion. To be 3 and still not have your front baby teeth seems pretty old to me. Good luck...I hope all turns out well!
Did either dentist do xrays? It's unusual for a 3 year old not to have his teeth, but xrays would show where the teeth and are what they are doing. I would make sure to go to a pediatric dentist and that he has the full series of xrays, not just an exam. Dont hesitate to ask your pediatrician for advice or a recommendation.
