So this weekend was AMAZING. Or alteast it started that way.
Friday- I found out Friday that our dryer took a dump on us. YAY. But I proceeded to get the apartment clean. Super happy about that.

Saterday- we had easter at bf's grandparents which was pretty awsome. After eating dairy for the first time since Tuesday I confirmed that I am lactose intollerant

Sunday we caught a snapping turtle while trying to fish. totally awsome we are going to try to cook it considering we heard they are amazing food. . And then after catching the turtle we helped bf's dad take down fence which was fun. I hoped to get a tan but just burned instead. Then I went to pick up a peice of fence and stabbed myself in the eye with long stemmy grass, now I have a scratched eye... OWWWW.

So here go all of my questions from the weekend.
What is a good cheep brand of dryer that we can get? Bf just started job so we are tight on money.
What all do I have to change now that I am lactose intollerant? Got dr. apt later this week but I am 99.99% possitive I am.
Has anyone cooked Turtle? Was it good? How did you cook it?
Now for the burn. How do I keep it from peeling? I want a tan!
And for my eye. I have antibiotic for it thank you to doc. What else can I do so that it will stop hurting?

Sorry for all of the questions but this weekend was eventful. Doesn't it always seem to happen at once. LMAO!!!

What can I do next?

I only have one comment on the turtle. I had turtle soup years ago that a friend made. It tasted a lot like ham and I think the soup was like ham and bean soup. I would say they either boiled or pressure cooked the turtle. You can probably find a recipe on-line.

I am lactose intollerant and switched to lactose free milk in cereal and when I make pudding. I cook with regular milk and do fine. You might not. I dont eat ice cream unless its lactose free and even then if I have too much I am in the bathroom.ugh. So no ice cream bars for me, no milk shakes, no sundaes, unless its lactose free. Im ok with cheese but dont care for it much so havent really been able to tell if more would bother me. Its sometimes just trial and error. I tried taking the lactaid pills, and was so constipated with them it wasnt worth it to do it again.(funny tho, I drank real milk and cleared that problem up!) There are varying degrees for this problem and you just have to see what you can handle and what you cant. And dont be surprised if you get it figured out, and then it changes on you!

There are pills you can take - over the counter - so you can pretty much eat what you want when you take them. But to be easy on your body, you just avoid milk products. Google to find out more, and your doc will probably give you a list of things as well. It's not that bad.

turtle: have no idea, dont think I could eat one... look up a turtle soup recipe online.
burn: use washcloths soaked in vinegar and water, they help with the pain and often will stop the peel depending on how bad it is... otherwise keep it really moisturized with aloe.
lactose: read labels, dont eat or drink anything with cow milk in it. Switch to nut milk... Almond is good, thats what I use.
dryer: check the newspaper for someone getting rid of one, people get divorced, move, etc... and dryers last a good long time in most cases. Just make sure you see it working before you buy it. You can get them really cheap from people that are in a hurry to move and get rid of them. Other than that, do Sears.... Kenmore is a good brand.

A basic name brand used dryer should be a good way to go. I'd buy it from an appliance repair shop because they frequently give warranties.

If you prefer new you can get a good basic one for not too much money. Shop around. I've bought mostly from Sears because their prices are reasonable and they have frequent sales. They also have a repair department in case something does go wrong. And you'll have a longer warranty with a new one.

Don't buy the extended warranty. It's very rare that a dryer wears out for many, many years. I've had my Kenmore dryer for 30 years. I have had to have the belt replaced a couple of times. But repair is simple and thus not too expensive. Definitely less expensive than a new dryer.

Burn - apply moisterizer constantly. Aloe is great. I also like noxzema which helps ease the pain and discomfort.

Lactose - my doctor recently told me I'm probably latose intolerent, but didn't do any special tests, just told me to take the over the counter pills. . You have lots of options, there are tons of latose free products. You can take the over the counter pills. You can get the calcium from other sources. You can eat cheese, most cheeses do not contain latose, especially hard cheeses like cheddar. OR you can do nothing.

Dryer - my dryer is almost 20 years old. Nothing fancy, nothing to break. Personally for the majority of us the basic models do the job, no need for fancy steaming, etc. I hang 90% of my stuff to dry.

Can't help you much on the dryer, except to say that a lot of people are selling good appliances on Craigs list - sometimes they are moving and don't want to pay to move something, or they are going into an apartment with a laundry set-up. Someone in my family got a state of the art washer & dryer set for $250 because the appliances wouldn't fit in the new house's laundry room.

Turtle - be careful. Make sure it's not an endangered animal first of all, but also eating a wild animal may expose you to things you'd rather not be exposed to! You have no idea where this animal has been.

How sure are you that you are seriously lactose intolerant? That's usually something that can be reversed by adding to your diet, not taking away. You can make yourself crazy with elimination diets, but I work with a ton of people who eat all the milk and ice cream they want because they use the right nutritional supplements.
