Hello Moms!! My son just turned one and he has hit the 20lb mark, so we are looking to purchase a new car seat. I was told that Britax is a good product, but I want to know if it is truly worth the expense. I would love to hear from any Britax users about the pros and cons of this car seat. I'd also love to hear about other products you may be using that you think is better. Thank you!

My opinion: YES! YES! YES! I've had my daughter in the Britax Decathalon since she hit 20 lbs (she's now 3 years!) and I'd NEVER use any other car seat. It is truly the best most reliable and safest car seat out there. And, it goes up to 65 lbs so you will not need to purchase another car seat for a very, very long time! Totally worth the money!

Hi =) I use to sell car seats for a living and I can tell you that Britax seats have the highest crash test ratings, they are the safest car seat on the market. Britax is also the only manufacture that crash tests their booster seats since that is not required. I also have a Britax, I have the Marathon and I absolutely love it. I have purchased 3 now- one for my car, one for Daddy's car and a new one for Daddy's car since he was in a car accident with my son in the car. I was told by one of the police officers after the paramedics looked at my son, "It is a really good thing you had a safe carseat that was installed properly, otherwise your son would be in a lot worse shape." I will never buy anything else now. I know that carseat saved his live. The car was t-boned, the entire passenger side was buckled in, glass every where, the car was totalled and my son never moved, his seat was installed properly and safe, he walked away with just a few bruises- thank heaven. I highly recommend Britax! I know they are expensive but I personally cannot put a price on my sons safety. Also, the covers just come right off, wash them in the gentle cycle and hang to dry- since we all know how messy our little ones can be =) And you can always buy new covers, they are about 40 bucks but sometimes the mess is just too big to clean lol. Hope this helps =)
Take care,
H.

I have twins and we have the Britax Boulevard. I recommend going to Babies R Us- they have coupon books they pass out every month for 20% off on any item. I used the 20% coupon and got $45 off each seat. The only catch is you CANNOT use the coupons online, you have to go inside the store.

I have the Marathon for my 2 year old daughter. I love it and I truly believe it's the safest car seat on the market. However, it's really big. My husband has a sedan and it makes it challenging getting her into the car seat. I have an SUV and when she was my only child it was easy to get her in and out of her seat. I had twin boys a month ago and now things are a bit crowded in our cars. All three seats don't even fit in my husband's car because the Marathon is so big. I've had to move my daughter's seat to the 3rd row in my SUV and it makes getting her in and out of it a real pain. First, because we have to crawl into the back to buckle her in, and second, because the Marathon sits so high we are more often than not hitting her head on the ceiling of the car as we lift her into her seat. Also, if you plan on getting on an airplane with the car seat, it is cumbersome to carry around and put on the airplane seat. Plus, it doesn't leave much leg room for your child. It's great to know she's very safe but with the two new additions to our family, it's becoming increasingly wearisome. We're seriously considering a minivan. So, if you have a minivan ... you should be fine. Especially if you're planning to have more kids. We were only planning on having one more, but we were blessed with two more. It certainly makes things interesting. I highly recommend Britax but keep in mind it's big and heavy.

Very worth the money!

I bought my son the Marathon after my co-worker was in an accident that totaled her car, and the only thing in one piece was the Britax Baby that held her toddler...the other seat, for her baby girl (a First Years, I think) which was empty at the time, cracked in half.

Hands down, proof enough for me.
