Need Some Advice - Fort Worth,TX

I have a 5 month old son who is not rolling over from back to tummy- I know that all babies do not develop the same way but I was just wondering if I should be concerned or not. Also when should he be sitting up on his own. I think I just need some re-assuring :)
Thanks ladies

What can I do next?

I wouldn't worry. My son didn't roll over until he was almost 5 mo old and he only learned to sit up by himself when he started to crawl at 9 mo. He walked shortly after that (10 mo.) Once he starts you won't be able to keep up with him. :P

My son started rolling from tummy to back at 6 wks. We thought he was a genius! :) But, he didn't roll from back to front until almost 9 months. (My daughter was doing this at 4 1/2 mo. so we were a little concerned) By 10 1/2 months he was walking like a pro. If all his other development is on track, I wouldn't worry about it. Babies have their own schedule for things. Go with your instinct, it's always right.

My daughter is almost 7 months and still doesn't roll from tummy to back, only back to tummy. Babies do their own thing....don't stress out about when they do what. :) She sat up just before she was 6 months, but we know quite a few babies born just a couple weeks after her that aren't yet. The bumbo seat really helped her and we propped her up too. Good luck and I'm sure your little one is doing great!!

I love this site:

We have our first coming in June, so I don't have first-hand experience, but I hope this helps!

My son was 7 months old before he rolled over by himself. I hear you on the concerns though. I am currently stressing out because my son is 11 months old and crawls all over the place but has no interest in standing on his own or pulling up to objects. I called our doctor and she said everyone develops different. She said not to worry yet, some babies just take their time. Call your doctor if you are concerned.
