Need Info on Your Health Source Food Coop

I am interested in joining a food coop in the Fort Worth area. I found this food coop online at www.yourhealthsource.org. I would love to hear feedback on this food coop or any other coop in the area. It costs $50 every 2 weeks and am a reluctant to try. I am not sure if the food will be too much or too little for a family of 3 with one on the way. Any info you have would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
S. C

I did join the Health Source coop and Love it! It does last in our house and we are trying new fruits and vegetables as well. Thank you for all your input. I love Mamasource and all the Mamas who are so eager to help one another. May the Lord bless you all!

I am in a veggie co-op through the Fellowship of the Metroplex in South Arlington (off 287 exit Eden/Curry stay on access road past the stop sign) our Co-op is $20 every other week. We pick up on Fridays at 6pm. The next one should be on July 11th, but checks normally need to be into the church office by Wednesday before the pick up. E-mail me if you are intersted and I can send you the e-mail of the lady who runs it for more information. It is a really good deal.. the food comes from the Fort Worth Farmers Market and it is way more than you could buy at the store for $20.

You can sign up for a Half-Share, which is half the food at half the cost...$25. This works well for my family of three. The produce is excellent quality.

I use that co-op and have been pretty happy with it. It is a lot of food for a small family, but if you already eat a lot of produce, or want to eat more, it would work. We have a family of 3, and that is how it works for us. We've been very happy with the quality of the food, and think we are getting a good value for the money, especially since all the food is organic. The biggest change for me was learning to plan our meals around the food we have coming, rather than plan menus and create shopping lists from that. Also, the food coming is not necessarily what I would have bought, but it has encouraged us to try new things. :)

I belong to another co-op, but I would recommend trying a 1/2 share to being with. Unless you are big fruit/veggie eaters, a whole share will most likely be too much for a family of three. With most co-op's (and with this one too from what I read on their site), you can change your order amount with one week's notice. Co-op's have definitely forced us to break out of our veggie rut and try new things. I love that it's all organic too. My daughter is 4 months old and we have already started making and freezing a few different fruits and veggies for whenever we decide to start her on solids.

i just wanted to say thanks for asking this question - i just went on their website and signed up - i have a family of four and am certain that we would use it all especially with our juicer - anyway i didn't know of anything like this so thank you for that - i mentioned to them that they should advertise on here - they had some great e-mails on their "testimonials" part of their website so i definitely think it is worth the 6 week commitment to check it out - thanks again!!
