Hello ladies! So here is my problem. my daughter will be 1 year on Sunday Mar.1 I breastfed exclusively. When I was at work she got bottles from my pumped supply. At 11 months I began to ween her. She started loving cow's milk in a bottle. Then suddenly didn't want the bottle anymore. She does great with a nuby sippy cup with juice in it.(Drinks the whole cup in one sitting) But pushes it away with milk in it. Every once in a while she will chug the whole cup of milk but rarely. usually it's only a couple sips. she loves cheese and yogurt so I try to give her that to get some calcium. I just get worried that she is not drinking enough milk. I'm still nursing before bed. People actually comment on how great of an eater she is, so how do I get her to drink her milk?
I second the straw cup. I actually plan to go buy one. My daughter refuses to drink formula/milk from a sippy cup, only a bottle or what I can give her. She will be a year soon so I have been adding a little milk to her bottles but the cup gets thrown on the floor. She also likes to drink from a regular cup but of course that would be very messy on her own.
Maybe you could offer it to her in a completely different type of cup- a straw type perhaps? That way she will only expect milk to come out of that particular cup and may enjoy using it if it is something new to her.
My daughter went through a smilier things with the milk issue. I put a little chocolate syrup in her milk and surprise she loved it then I just put less and less in the milk and she was satisfied drinking the whole milk without the chocolate!! Good luck

Cows milk is not an important part of our diet/ we need fluids for hydration and food for nutrition/ there are many calcium rich foods available without resorting to drinking cows milk.

I extended nursing with my son and then we switched to cows milk. Have you tasted breast milk? It is sweet and room temperature- so maybe try making cows milk tastier (not with honey though because it is raw and the baby is too young.) Also, that bond between nursing mother isn't necessarily the same with cows milk- or could it be? Can you two just have a nice cup of milk and you adore her?
