Need Advice: I'm Pregnant and We Are Poor.

Hi Mommas! I'd like to get your thoughts on this topic that's been bothering me lately. I just found out I'm pregnant about 8 weeks ago. So I'm due July 5th. We are poor, and really need more income in the house to pay for bills and such. I can and really like to sew, but doing that I don't think will bring in all that much money to really speak of. Also, I know we can put some things on ebay. Would it be stupid to go to work before the baby is born? Currently I don't have an outside job, and the one, that I lost says that they will take me back in February, but I don't think it would be fair, to start there, and then quit or ask for time off, when the baby is born, plus I firmly believe that baby's need their Momma's to take care of them. I nurse and EC and babywear. But I also know that we need the money. My husband says, that if I don't, we will manage somehow. He also plans on somehow to build us a bigger place to live. Currently, we live in a two bedroom house trailer, with two boys and my husband and I. Thanks in advance for your advice. =) Holly

Praise God! Plus, dh and I are going to keep trying to have another baby. We are also in the process of better budgeting. =)

Hi Holly,
I have a 6 year old that has outgrown so much. I have some clothes to donate if you're interested. It's funny that this is the very reason I joined this website, to be able to know more about the people I donate to instead of just dropping bags of clothes in a dumpster and hope that it's not just being thrown out. I have 3 bags in my car now. another at home. Please respond if you're interested, I'll come to you.

Hi Holly, not sure if you'll get this message since your last post was last year, but wanted to let you know that your story was extremely touching to me. You have a wonderful man for a husband since he is not pressuring you to go to work to help pay bills. God bless you all! I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Keep your head up -- God works in mysterious ways. Your baby will be back...it just wasn't time yet. I suffered a miscarriage the year my husband and I were married, I was about 5 weeks. We tried, and prayed, and tried, and prayed for another 9 years before our beautiful babygirl, Faith came, born in April 2004. She is a reminder to us that the Lord is Good and Faithful.
We are not well off either. I am working while Daddy takes care of her during the day. I want to stay home and earn an income at the same time, so I searched for, and found a great team of people who really care about me and my dreams. It's the Stayin Home & Lovin It team. What I love about this team and company so much is that they really care about me and what's important in my life. They have helped me make my home a healthier, safer place and at the same time helped me earn a supplemental income that is growing each month! My goal is to replace my current full-time salary and be able to be home full time working from home. That's not far off, and I looking forward to it.

Holly, Do you have dreams? Do you want to see your family enjoying life the way God intended? Do you want to be able to relax and have fun with your family on YOUR terms? Then I suggest you check out my website and see for yourself. This business is fun, flexible, reliable, and residual. You get paid over and over again for work you do only once! I'd love to chat with you and give you more details. Click on the link to my website for more info: http://www.stayinhomeandlovinit.com/cgi-bin/team.cgi?id=A...

I hope you'll consider this opportunity. My heart goes out to you and I think you deserve a chance to change your life for the better. Opportunity is knocking, Girl! :)
Hope to hear from you!

Have you tried finding a job that you can do at home? Say babysitting other people's kids or even a small daycare? That will bring in some money. If you want to work outside the home, try supermarkets or even retail stores; but work at night so your husband can watch the kids. You watch them during the day while he is at work and then he should watch them at night while you work, that should bring some extra money in. Hope my advice helps. Wish I could help in anyway.

Well congrats on your next bundle of joy!!! If you want to do something with sewing...the best place to do it from home is ebay. Do you drive? You could also get a job driving a school bus or van. You need a special licence for that.....but it's not hard to get. Also you could look into working for a daycare in your area.....I wish you the best...K.

I suggest making your sewing crafts, and trying to either sell on ebay, or doing craft shows and flea markets. You can make up flyers and business cards on the computer and hand them out wiht anything you sell, and even mail them out. That way you can start a small home business.

Also, I am going to school online to become a real estate agent. this will give me the freedom to be with my kids all week, and make money as well. I cna do most fo the work right from home, and show houses on the weekends when my boyfriend is here with the children. this may be a valid option for you as well. try to contact weichart realitors or any other one for hta matter. they have great information. weichart does a caeer seminar for people who are interesed in becoming realiors. they are great, and are who got me started.

good luck.

Hello Holly,
Ever heard of mom to mom sale? This is when mothers meet and sell to each other things that their kids don't use anymore. Since you can sew, you might be making clothes and blankies to sell to other moms.
EBay is also a good idea BUT you have to pay to have your items there.
I read other moms mentioning government programs, yes, I think you should look for those too. You won't be begging anyone. You'll actually be using your tax money.
Good luck and congratulations.

Id definitely check out some work at home options. This gives you the ability to work as much as you need and want and work around your spouses schedule, limiting your child care needs and espenses. There are many companies out there from kids toys to tupperware to marykay to adult novelties. You earn money the night of your parties, although some companies will send you a check instead of you taking your money that night. I know that with the company I'm with, I'm making anywhere from $150-300 a night for about 3 hours worth of work.

If you want to take a stab at Ebay, go for it. Just do some homework on what sells and what doesnt...you don't want to end up coming short of your initial start up costs.

Holly,

Congratulations on your upcoming arrival! I believe that babies are a miracle, no matter when they make their appearance.

I commend you for your integrity. So few people really worry about doing the right thing by their employers, and its admirable that you are concerned. Have you considered a temp agency? I don't know what your skills are, what kind of previous experience you have, but temp agencies exist for all kinds of employees. This way, you can go to work and save up some money, without feeling like you are misleading someone.

Have you considered looking for a position with the school system? There are more than just teachers there, but cafeteria staff, hall aides, office people, all kinds of jobs in schools, and you'd be finished for the year before your baby came.

I work from home through a home party business, one afternoon a week, and make about 400-500 a month. I understand that these opportunities aren't for everyone, but if you'd like to know more about what I do, feel free to leave me a message.

Good luck and congratulations again!

Hi Holly,

I am a Mom of two and wanted to ask if you ever saw the 'The Secret' as shown on the Oprah Winfrey Show?

The key to success is visalizing what you want as opposed to focusing on what you don't have.

This is a tough concept to get for most of us, but you are capable or achieving greatness.

If you'd like some free information on a home based business to check out for yourself, just let me know.

Hi Holly- I know your posting was last year, but I was really touched by your situation. I know that I have an opportunity that can help you. I am a mother with a 16- month old and I have a fulltime job. I also 'work' part-time as a PartyLite consultant.I started my business over two years ago and it was the best decision I ever made. PartyLite is a direct sales company that sells candles and accessories. I can decide when I do shows and when I spend time with my family. There are no start up costs. and it is the most fun I have ever had 'working'. I also have met some of my closest friends through PartyLite.
I would love to share more with you. Please visit my website to find out more or contact me. www.partylite.biz/danielleroberts

whatever you decide I wish you only the best- D.

you might also want to check out soacial programs like pcap, wik, and or foodstamps. if you have those bills taken care of, it will free up some money for other things like a bigger residence. Do not feel ashamed about reaching out for help. Just think to your self, you and your husband have been paying taxes for years. Use these programs as a step up! You may even be eligable for money towards your heat, and electric. Go to your local office. they are listed in the phone book. You may even own your own home and still qualify for these programs. Do not stress, just reach out for now and get help. When your baby is not nursing anymore,m then go out and find a job so you may leave public assistence. good luck, and never be ashamed if you need help. It does not make you any less of a person!

Hi Holly

All my best to you with your new arrival. You may consider yourself poor, but you're not. You just don't have the right tools to help your situation.

To help you with your situation, I'd like to recommend watching a short movie on my website (http://www.IBOPlus.com/mpuglia) about starting your own business from home.

Jobs can be temporary with limited earning potential, but you are in control of your earnings when owning your own business. You're in business for yourself but not by yourself.

By working this business from home you'll gain certain tax advantages which will help save you money on taxes & have you will have the flexibility to stay at home with your children.

Not only that but you will be helping other people with their needs. It's a win/win situation.

For other work from home opportunities you can visit the Business Opportunities or the Employment section of my online shopping mall (http://www.YourFavoriteLinks.com)

While on my site you may want to go to my Special Promos page where I have promotions for an inexpensive formula & diaper company. Having an infant, I'm sure you wouldn't mind saving a few dollars there.

I hope this helps you & please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. ____@____.com

Good Luck & GOD Bless
