Need a Part-time Daycare Recommendation

Congrats on your new baby to be! I don't have any daycare names, but rather a suggestion to consider. Please consider having your child in daycare full time if you are going to work from home. (Gasp!) I know some people are going to choke on that. I am a mom that works outside of the home. My company's work from home policy is that our kids cannot be home while we are working. I've tried working on urgent things on the weekends when my kids were home, and find that I can't get anything done. I end up trying to find a family member to watch them or wait until they go to sleep. Then I'm up all night working and barely sleep. For example, yesterday was my work at home day. My kids woke up at 8. I didn't get them to the sitter until 9:30. then worked until 3:30 when I had to stop for a family thing. But I still needed to put in time, so I worked after the kids were asleep from 10p - 1am. Then I had to get up at 5:30am to come into work today. If they'd been home, I would've had to wait until nap time after lunch to get anything done at work.
My suggestion wouldn't have to be completely full time/full day. Full day when you are in the office and perhaps 1/2 a day when you work from home. Also, some daycare places will let you pay a reduced price if your child is there less than full day.

I don't have any daycare recommendations either, but like the below poster I work from home fulltime and my daughter is in daycare fulltime.

Your infant will LOVE you, but that means if you are home, your baby will want to be with you and it will be very difficult to get work done.

I find it is best to treat working from home the same as working at work, just with a much better commute.

My daughter spends less than full days at daycare, but their schedule allows me to drop her off and pick her up anytime during their hours. She spends a lot less time in daycare because I work from home, but I like the flexibility of fulltime.

I highly recommend our in-home daycare provider. She will watch kids part time as well as full time (she'll also take kids of SAHMs who have Dr appts and whatnot for the length of the appointments.) We're with her for daughter #2 now, she cared for daughter #1 (now 4 yr old) from the age of 12 weeks to 2 1/2 years. She's great! We found her through two different neighbors of ours that had used her for their kids, she's been doing this for over 15 years now.

I also live near BB/Oak View elementary schools, so you are probably convenient to her home. She's in Fairfax Club Estates, between Zion and Burke Center Parkway (I'm in the adjoining neighborhood, Middleridge.) I just wanted to let you all know about a super awesome nanny I know who is looking for a job. She needs full time but doesn't mind splitting up days with more than 1 family. Her name is Najat Benanssa. She was so great with my 2 kids. She's very motherly, they loved her. She took them outside to play every day, twice a day.
