My very close girlfriend just had her second baby girl. I was looking for a gift that would somehow celebrate both of her girls. She does not need a single piece of baby gear. Any ideas would be appreciated. I do not want to spend more than $100.00.
I got a perfect idea from a friend. I ended up getting her a necklace with both of her daughters names engraved. Thanks to everyone for your great ideas.
What about bringing the family dinner? I tend to do that when my friends have second children. They're so busy with both kids, no one has any time to think about food. And I typically do it after "their help" has left (i.e. parents, inlaws, etc).
What about a gift certificate to a mommy and me class that the three of them can all attend? Or, you could put together a 'girlie spa' basket complete with age-appropriate lotions, gels, nail polishes, baby washes, etc. and sneak in a gift certificate for a manicure/pedicure for mom?
When my best girlfriend had her second daughter I was in the same boat. I felt that the second child was going to get everything second hand so I wanted to get something that was special just for the new daughter. I went to the Babies R Us engraving section and purchased a picture frame and had it engraved with the second child's birth info. She loved it!
Having had two kids, it really helped when others thought about our older son after our daughter was born. As a mom, I gave my son a baby doll so that he could have his own baby after our daughter arrived. He still has that doll today.
I try to give mom a gift--slippers, the most beautiful, cushy, glorious pair (typically isotoner) which is typically really appreciated. Another suggestion is to get books to read to each child so they both have special books that are their own. These are all quite affordable. Hope this helps :-}

I normally spend about $100 for mom's on... Diapers, wipes, rash cream, and the rest on a Jewel gift card incase they need something like tylenol or formula. It's not a cutesy gift, but it's something they can really use. Let's face it, by the second kid, you're broke, any practical gifts always are appreciated. By my 3rd baby, I didn't need another flipping baby blanket, but I loved people who got me diapers and stuff.

That is so sweet of you to think of the new big sister, too!! I think maybe a gift certificate for mom and her girls to have a portrait taken? That way it includes all of them (and dad if he's interested) and celebrates the new family dynamic.
What about matching charm bracelets? Obviously the baby would have to grow into. Or something along those lines.
Books that would be appropriate for both ages. You can then write personal messages in the cover to both girls.

Hi this S. a nice birthstone ring or a sterling silver chain and maybe two little girl charms would be different or a savings bond with both of their names on it but, sears or maybe even walmart should have something in that catergory. Good luck let me know what u picked
