Need a Car That Fits 3 Carseats!!

I'm pregnant (unexpected), and neither one of our cars will fit 3 carseats in it. I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old in Britax Marathon carseats right now, and in about 7 months, we'll have an infant. Any ideas on a good, reliable, but not-to-expensive larger car? I thought of a minivan, but ugh!! I can't picture myself driving a minivan! There have to be other people in our situation.

What can I do next?

Never thought I'd drive a minivan, but LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Odyssey that I got 2 yrs ago. Before this, I had an Acura TL, before that, a BMW 530. ...so, my kids are 6.5 yrs and 3 yrs. I can easily fit 3 carseats if needed (transporting friends). I am not a Britax mom, so our good ole cheap carseats are fine.

HTH!!

a less expensive option would be to go with sunshine radian kids carseats - they are slim profile designed specifically to go three across. we have two of them. we can get two on the sides and the infant seat base in the middle of my husband's car. i drive a minivan and have all britax seats in there. so... not sure what your financial situation is, but you may want to consider new car seats rather than a new car.

We just had our 3rd child. 1 with a booster seat, 1 regular forward facing seat and now an infant seat. It is a squeeze, but we can all fit in our Isuzu troper. We weren't ready for a mini van yet and weren't willing to fork out the extra cash for an SUV or the gas that it takes. We love our trooper and it travels well. We travel for a living and we've already been on the road 1 time since our 3rd was born the beginning of August.
Hope this helps=)

I have an Escalade ESV that I love. While they are really expensive new, you can get them used for a really good price and they are usually in much better condition than other used SUVs. Congrats!

Congratulations!
I second the recommendation of looking into the Sunshine Kids Radian carseats - they fit 3 across in most cars since they are the most narrow carseats out there. They are great quality and comfortable. The only thing is when they are rear facing they take up a ton of room, but maybe if you get two SKRs forward facing you can fit an infant carrier rear facing.
I needed a bigger car when I found out we were having twins and we bought a Yukon XL and I love, love, love it. I couldn't picture myself driving a minivan either. What I love about my car is there is plenty of seating space, but the storage in the back is huge too.

I know all about needing three car seats! When we were blessed with our triplets, we already had two kids. We looked at everything: minivans, suburbans, yukons, you name it! We finally settled on the Toyota Sequoia. We LOVE it. In fact, we now have 98,500+ miles on it and it's running great! I would highly recommend it and I plan to get another one if this one ever decides to kick the bucket (not expecting it to happen anytime soon...). Hope this helps!

You'd be surprised how many cars can actually fit 3 car seats! We got 3 average-sized car seats in our Explorer, and we even got 2 front facing PLUS a rear-facing infant seat in my husband's tiny Cavalier when we had to. It's going to be tight any way you slice it, so just try it out on a few cars you actually like.
