Ok ladies, my husband and I have FINALLY narrowed down the name options or our second son. We have narrowed it down to Ty Logan or Tyke Logan. We really like Tyke because its different and we only know one person with that name but are kinda concerned that he might get picked on for being 'little tyke'. Opinions would be appreciated.. Oh, and if you don't like either name please don't comment, its taken us 8 months to narrow it down to those two options.

Thanks!

personally I prefer Ty, but if you prefer Tyke than use it, and if he gets teased just shorten it to Ty as a nick name

Ty! You can always call him Tyke while he IS a little tyke, but Ty is a great name that can grow with him. ...btw, congrats!

Try to see your son as a grown adult man...I can better see a Ty than a Tyke. But why not name him Tyler, then call him Ty for short? Tyler will carry over better when he has to live life as an adult (think graduating from college, writing a resume, applying for a job, etc.).

Your last name matters the most as to how it sounds with the first name, but my vote is definitely for Ty Logan, I wouldn't want to be a professional 40 year old with the name Tyke :)

Love the name Ty. Had it on my list til I realized it rhymed with my oldest "Cy". LOL.
Anyway, I agree with your Tyke concerns- doesn't tyke mean dog or something too?

Ty...

there is no doubt in my mind that he'll get teased with "little tyke"- remember that he has to go through highschool and adulthood with his name! (I think tyke logan sounds cute... I see the appeal- but to be kinder I would name him Ty, and you can call him tyke when he is little if you want to...)

-M.

PS: what about Tyge - same meaning as tyke... just slightly different spelling and pronunciation?

I like Ty but would add an E as others have suggested. Tyke would be ok for a kid but wouldn't be taken too seriously in the professional adult world. Who knows what's in store for your son but if he were to choose a career dealing with the public, I like others would think of Little Tyke's toys, LOL
Also how bout Tate?

Ty Logan is my vote!

Tyce (or Tice) is a cool name (Ty for short).

Definitely Ty. Is it short for Tyler?
I also like the names Teagan and Tanner, if you are looking for "different" T names.

Ty. In fact, in college I had the biggest crush on a guy named Ty. I still think of him every so often and wonder how he is doing ;) Nice name...

I think Tyke is super cute, but i agree with when he gets older - he will probably get teased in school and as a 40 year old, i'm sure he will be going by "Ty" for short.

I vote name him Ty and use Tyke as a nickname you call him.
