My 2 year old will only drink milk from a bottle. She will drink anything else from a sippy cup/cup, but not milk. We have tried different types of cups and flavoring the milk with no success. The problem--we went out of town last week and did not bring any bottles for milk. She has not had a bottle since last Thurs. which is terrific, but she maybe has had 1 cup of milk since that time. Please advise!

What can I do next?

Hi RJ! My youngest daughter was like that...Once we took the bottle away from her she refused to drink milk out of a cup. She would drink juice and water but not milk. We would offer her milk in the cup constantly. She ate alot of cheese and I just started giving her vitamins with calcium. Once I convinced her to eat cereal with milk over it she started drinking the milk when she was done. It took a while but she finally decided there wasn't anything different about the milk and started asking for milk in her cups. I think it is just hard for them but in time they will realize it is the same thing that you put in the bottle and it will be okay. BTW, try regular cups instead of sippy cups. Josalyn never drank milk from a sippy cup. (maybe too much like a bottle? I don't know.) Might help!?
Good Luck!

Hang in there, and dont give her back the bottle..she will be fine:) Try making sure she has some yogurt everyday until she is willing to drink it. Or, try a different milk, like goat or even soy milk. She really will come around once she has had enough time to forget that she ever preferred a bottle. Try sneaking it in other ways too, milk in her cereal, maybe a smoothie or something similar. Good luck ~A.~

Have you tried other types of milk...goat milk (much better than cow milk), soy, etc. As long as your daughter is getting plenty of Vitamin D, Calcium, etc. I think she'll be fine. I didn't drink milk as a toddler/child and still don't today because I do not like it. And I have been a pretty healthy person my entire life.

Just make sure she's getting plenty of water as well as other beverages. Hydration is very important.
Good luck! :)

My first two wouldn't either. They still don't like milk to this day. i don't know what happen but as soon as i took them off the bottle they stopped drinking milk. With all the options available now days, like juices with calcium, Ensure, and gummy bear vitamins, i wouldn't worry! Try other foods and drinks with similar nutrients.
