I was thinking about buying a Murano and wanted to hear from those who have one. If you have more than one child, is it a good family car? Is there enough room for everyone to sit comfortably with 2 car seats? Would you buy it again? Anything else i should know?

What can I do next?

YES. Love my Murano.

Bought my Murano in '07 while trying to get pregnant the first time. The backseat is spacious and comfortable for 3 adults w/plenty of legroom. Now I have 2 kids--16month old is in a rear-facing seat and the 1 month old in the infant seat. I have one child on each side, and a medium to small person could fit in the middle if needed (although I wouldn't do that for a long trip!). My husband and I are tall with long legs and would prefer to put our seats back more, but we are still very comfortable with the carseats in back.

My double wide stroller fits perfect in the back (Bumbleride Indie Twin) and I have just enough room to fit a case of water or soda from Costco--but I have to take it out to make a big costco run.

I get 17.5 mpg overall mixed fwy & city, but mostly city. It handles very well and is maneuverable enough in tight parking lots. The reverse camera is great--not something I would have paid extra for, but I love it now.

When car shopping, I compared it to the Lexus SUV (which I really loved), and I think the Murano is a much better deal comparing features vs. price. I feel safe in my Murano. It is spacious enough around me that I don't feel like a sardine (I didn't feel safe--too cramped--in the Highlander).

I have two friends with Muranos also (one with 1 child, one with 2). Feel free to email me any more Q's about the Murano.

I dont have a murano but thought I should respond. In these hard economic times I wanted a murano but it was just a bit out of my price range and I saw that they have the "baby murano" aka the rogue. Its just a little bit smaller and its the same description that the others have mentioned here... a little tight but doable. i love my rogue and I saved a lot of $.

I have had our Murano for almost a year and we have two girls (7 & 4) still in car seats. Our car seats are a little big and one person can sit in between them. Its a tight fit but, it works. We just make sure the seats are pulled closer to the door when someone else needs to sit between them. I would take your car seats to the dealer, put them in and see if it will work for you. I really love our Murano. Good luck!

We don't have one, but Great-Grandma does. We can seat three adults (and we are NOT small) and two car seats and still have plenty of room in the trunk for accessories. Very easy to get into and out of and leg room in the back for adults. I recommend it on comfort, but don't know anything about drivability, safety, mileage, etc.

I just completed my car search two days ago, so I have plenty of insight on this one! I looked at the Murano (as well as several other SUVs) as we have a 16-month old son and 10-week old daughter, so we were looking to get a new family friendly car. My husband and I were open to the idea of mini-vans, but really didn't want to go there and were trying to find an SUV that we liked. I guess it's the whole stigma of frumpiness attached to mini-vans and the loss of youth associated with it. :) Anyway, after looking at several different cars and all their features, we ended up buying a Toyota Sienna minivan (the 8-seater one)! It was the same price as all of the SUVs, got better mileage, had more storage room in the back, and with two car seats, we can still fit 6 other people in the car. I've been driving it for 3 days now, and I can honestly say I LOVE it. It handles well, and has good pick up--I used to drive an Infiniti G35 before the van, so while it's not as fast, it definitely is not frumpy. I chose the black one, because it minimizes the "minivan" appearance and it looks sleeker. All in all, I'm really happy we went with the Sienna, with taxes and fees it came in at a little over $29K (a little less than the Murano). I did get the Sienna LE (it's one step up from the super basic CE which has manual everything). You can also upgrade from there to either the XLE or the Limited, but the LE was good enough for our needs. I love that now if we are going somewhere with the grandparents we don't have to have everyone take separate cars since the car seats took up the whole back seat of my last car. We can actually have other passengers now, it's great. Plus our dog can fit comfortably in the back even with teh double stroller loaded in. Good luck on your car search and hope this helps!
