Moving to Woodstock from FL

Just wondering if anyone would be willing to share their opinions on Woodstock/Canton? We plan to move their over the summer. Is the traffic a major concern for mom taking kids to activities locally? Or just around Atlanta? Looks like the schools are good in Cherokee county also. Any comments are welcome. Thanks.

We just relocated from Indianapolis to Woodstock the 1st of April. (talk about your better weather!)
Traffic is an issue in the am hours (6:30-9ish) and the pm hours (4:00-6:30) and can be more extreme if there is bad weather or an accident. But if you go out in the meat of the day, you should not have any issues.
One of the reasons we moved to Woodstock was because of the schools.

My family and I moved to Roswell, GA Feb. 05. We just moved over to Woodstock Feb. 06. I love it out here, everything is conviently located, and it has a good home town feel to it. You feel like you are in the country without really being in the country. Right around the corner from us is a horse ranch, and the other side we got out shopping strip!!! Love it!!! My kids love the school they are going to. GREAT SCHOOL!! Carmel elem. Anyway if you have ANY questions feel free to give me a holler and I can help you out!! My husband knows a lot about this area since he grew up here. Good luck!!!

Hi J.,
We will be moving to that area at the end of the summer hopefully too!

We are just waiting for my husband's boss to get his business started and give us a move date.

I would be interested in any info. you get. :)

Hi J.!
My husband and I live in Woodstock-- Towne Lake Area...the elementary school appears great. Love the area as well. I work in Cobb County as a teacher and know many East Cobb Schools are awesome. As for Canton...I do not know much about it except that my husband's brother lives in Bridgemill...fairly new subdivision with lots of houses. As for traffic...it's just plain bad in Atlanta. Traveling locally isn't that bad but our rush hour is considered from 3:30ish until 7...taking any highway will be terrible. Sorry for that bad news.

I am originally from Ormond Beach, FL I have worked in the area for over 3 years and the traffic is less than other 'metro' Atlanta areas; it's still a lot of traffic but you can get around easier. I have been in Atlanta area(s) for over 6 years now and have adapted to the fact that it will take approx 30 mins to go anywhere....good luck :)

We are also relocating to Woodstock from FLorida. I've been up there a few times and there is a lot of traffic at commute times but other than that it's not bad. Less in Canton than Woodstock. The Town Lake Parkway area in Woodstock is very busy in the AM and PM near the 575 on-ramp.
