Hi there, I am from the great city of Mansfield and I love it! I will help in any way I can. I use Pediatrician Dr.Marsha Sampson. and I love her! Look up the Library and Mansfield Activity Center (MAC) for kids activities. As for Pedi Dentist my daughter goes next week for fillings at Dr. Sullivans office, she is very nice also. For me and my hubby, we use Dr.Blair Jones for our dentist. He is a very nice christian man.
As far as restaurants go, I will have to mention that I work at a mexican restaurant and I love it and I think they have the best food! It's called Cha Cha's Mexican Restaurant. It's across the street from JJ's car wash on hwy 157.(aka Cooper & aka Main St)
I hope this information is helpful. I love meeting new people, so if you are ever in Cha Cha's ask for T. and I would love to meet you, and fill you in on the city! Good luck and Welcome to Mansfield!

I know you will enjoy living in Mansfield ! I have grown up here and obviously am still here :) Pedi dentist - Dr. Deborah Sullivan - wonderful with kids & I love her staff ! Pediatrician - we use Dr. Robert Mann - he is with the Cooks Network in the office on Matlock & Debbie Lane (in the Neighborhood Wal Mart center). He is great and again his staff is really good. My boys both really like him. Go online to the city website and look at the MAC (Mansfield Activities Center) section. They have alot of stuff going on and the library also has stuff like story time each week. This is broken out by age groups so your daughter would be with other kids her age. There are several churches - 1st Methodist, 1st Baptist, etc. that have Mother's Day Out programs. We attend South Oaks Baptist in south Arlington. It's a wonderful church and has a weekday program also.
Sorry this has been so long but I hope it's helped some. Hope your move goes smoothly & you enjoy living here. If you want to talk or ask questions, feel free to send me a personal message.

We go to Dr. Deborah Sullivan- she is an excellent pedi dentist, the Mansfield library is awesome and has really fun story times for all ages. You could join the Mansfield Activities Center (MAC)its a really cheap price for the family and they have a 'Toddler Time' on Mon/Wed - we used to go all the time. Chicken Reds is a fav restaurant on my girls...it has a really big play area.
It really is a great area!

Go to meetup.com and joing the Arlington MOmmy Meetup group. There are lots of mommies and kids from Mansfield there too. There are several things palanned each week. Also, my midwife now has a birth center in Peaster which is about an hour west of here, but she used to be out of Family Birth Services in Grand Prairie (not far away). The other midwives there are awesome. ( I had both of mny kiddos at home). Dr. Sharon Dennis in ARlington is who whe use for pediatrics. She is actually a family practice dr that used to be a midwife. She tends towrd more natural traeatment (she's a D.O) and is fine with selective or no vaccinations if that is what you are looking for. Cooks chchildren's hospital in Ft. worth is the best place to go for emergencies for your kids if youj live in Tarrant county. Also, I attend a free, professionally led breastfeeding support group that meets every Tuesday night at 7pm at the South Arlington Church of Christ at 830 Eden Rd. arlington , tX 76001 . You are welcome to attend now, even before you get pg. if you like.
Good luck on your move. The metroplex has sooo much to offer. I hope you will like it.

We go to Dr. Schmidt, 108 south Main, ###-###-####. I really like him and am so glad my cousin recommended him to me when we moved here last year. He has a very laid back personality so you feel comfortable talking to him about anything. You can get in very quickly too. The first time I saw him I needed to be seen ASAP and they got me in first thing the next morning.

He has a great referral board too. Next to the check out desk they have printed out info on all the doctors he recommends. So far I have gone to the ENT, Gastroenterologist, and Plastic Surgeon he recommended. The Plastic Surgeon is the only one I'm not thrilled with, but to be honest it is not the doctor he recommends but his partner. (The specific one he recommended is retiring this month and not taking new patients of corse.)

I hope your move goes smoothly!

Congrats on your move to Mansfield. I would highly recommend a great midwife. Her name is Amy Allred a Certified Professional midwife. I used her for all 4 of my kids. She is a wonderful experienced, knowledgeable, gentle and caring midwife. She works out of a birthing center in Grand Prairie but also does home births. Her email address is ____@____.com and her website address is www.blessingsofbirth.com. Her services include all of your prenatal visits and testing and postpartum visits including your 6 week pap. They also do a 2-day and 2 week visit with the baby. They file your state required paperwork as well. I could go on for days about the care I received for all 4 of my pregnancies.Give her a call. I know you will be pleased.

A. C. Working mom of 4 wonderfully busy kids ages, 6,4,2, and 9 months.

I just thought your name was cool--- I am C.! ;-) We would love to see you at the YMCA of Arlington Cooper St Branch which serves Mansfield and has a great family atmosphere with lots to do. There's something for everybody there. The KidZone is free childcare while you work out and kids just love it there. It's a great way for moms to socialize with other moms and make friends, too. Music In Motion Parent-Tot classes are also availabe. We have scrapbooking nights, parents night out (babysitting) and many things in addition to being a workout facility.

Where in Mansfield are you moving to? I live in Lowe's Farm (360 and Broad St.). I can help you with some of your requests. Unfortunately my Ped. only accepts newborns so until you have another one, she wouldn't be able to accept your daughter. But if you do have another one soon, her name is Julie Tomberlin. She is fantastic with the kids. She gets down on the floor and plays with them. She does tend to run really behind sometimes (she spends lots of quality time with every patient!). There's a great pediatric dentist here, Deborah Sullivan (she's building a new office on Broad St.). When I first called there was a several month wait to get in so I found another ped. dentist in Arlington that I like. But my friends rave about her. I just starting going to a new family practioner for myself. So far I really like him. He's young (which can be a good or bad thing). But if someone in the family has the sniffles, you should be able to get in fast. His name is Darin Charles. As for things to do, for $25 a year, you can join the MAC - Mansfield Activities Center. On Mon. and Wed. from 10-12 they have toddler time, blocks, balls, a bounce house all in an airconditioned gym. My 3 year (and 11 month old) love it! They also have a lot of other activites, but this is a fantastic (and nearly free) thing to do with kids. You can get to know lots of moms this way to. As for restaurants, we love Paulio's Pizza (on Hwy. 157), Cotton Patch, and for breakfast - Joe's (right off Broad near Hwy. 287). Good Luck with your move and let me know if you've got any more questions.

Hello C.,
Welcome to the Mansfield area. I live in Midlothian, not to far away, but I graduated for Mansfield. A very good pediatrician is Dr Wayne (man) or Dr Tomberlin (woman) on 706 HUnters Row Court, ####-###-####. I use Dr Wayne for my kids, I have a 6 year old and a 2 month old. Dr Tomberlin is very nice also, she helped me in the hospital with my newborn. They are great with kids and stuff. There are some yummy resteraunts in Mansfield, if you like a good steak there is Texas Roadhouse. Good Italian food is Johnny Carrinos. Mansfield has a new water park that just opened called Hawaiian Falls, very reasonable priced and fun for all ages.

I hope this helped out a little bit, again welcome to Mansfield.

Dr. Barry Cole is a great dentist in Mansfield (real close to walnut creek drive along 287. Also, Richter Animal Hospital is wonderful (located in Arlington a little further up 287, but still close). don't have the numbers on me for either but they will certainly be listed in the yellow pages. Hope that helps!

Hi C.,
Congrats on your move! Here are some people/places I can recommend: Pediatrician- Dr. Sampson/ Dr. Archer (Mansfield Pediatrics). Vet, Mansfield Animal Clinic. Dr. Canon/ Dr. McAllister are both great. All the dr.s at that clinic have been great with our two dogs and two cats. For a Dentist, my husband and I go to a place called Forever Smiles and we love it. I believe they take children too. The MAC (Mansfield Activities Center) is a great place to find activities for your kids, also the YMCA, which I believe is actually in Arlington, but it's really close to Mansfield.

As far as restaurants go, Mansfield is actually getting some great ones. Not just the chains that you'll find everywhere. For Pizza, visit Palios (if you like gourmet pizza), for great Italian, visit La Gondola, for Mexican, there's Cha Chas and Nelda's and then all the chains (On the Border, Mexican Inn, etc) for burgers, visit Charlies, if you want Thai food, our favorite is Thai House up in Arlington off Cooper Street. You can pretty much get any kind of food you want around here, but those are the privately owned, diamond in the rough restaurants that we always look for.

Enjoy!
Hilary
