I am a mom of a toddler and would like to talk to other motherless mothers. My mother died when I was young and I am looking to connect with other motherless moms. Would you be interested?

Hi G.,
I too lost my mother too young, both for her and me. She never got to see me marry, or to meet my three beautiful children. It was her dream to be a grandma. Each time I have had a baby (my youngest is now 7 months old) it has brought up all of the old pain, and the longing to have a mother to bond with and to help me and support me. I am going to look into the Motherless mothers group; it sounds like it might be nice to have the support of other women who don't have their own mothers to guide their mothering.
Are you in Portland, G.? Perhaps we could organize a coffee gathering, say at Sip n Kranz in the Pearl, or some other child friendly place?
H.

There is a Motherless Daughters Meet up group that meets in Portland once a month. If you go to meetup.com. You should be able to find it from there. It is a mixed group of women who have lost their mothers at varying ages. I have not met a lot of women who lost their mothers in early childhood or childhood, but I know that their are members who are motherless mothers who lost their mothers at a young age. I would be interested in a specific Motherless Mothers group, too. I have a 6 yr old and 2 yr old.

G.,
I too am a motherless mom. I have b/g twins that are almost 2. I lost my mom almost 10 years ago. She was only 53. I'd be interested in connecting. Let me know what you are able to pull together.

I have been seeking something like this for a while now. My mom died somewhat unexpectedly when my son was just 6 months old. I was left feeling confused by my emotions of grief over a huge loss and joy over a huge gain (my son) at the same time. It was also especially hard seeing my other new-mommy friends have their moms for support when I knew mine was gone. I would love to connect with other women who have gone through similar experiences. Being a mom without a mom is very difficult for someone who hasn't gone thru it to understand. I would welcome meeting a few other women who do.

Hi Geetha,
Is this group still existing. I lost my mother on 23 december 2009 to sudden cardiac arrest and i was 4 weeks pregnant with my first child. I miss her so much. I would be glad to connect with other members who lost their parents and are still greiving.
