I'm pregnant with #3 and will have a 3 1/2 year old and a 2 year old when this baby is born. I've been doing some research on slings and wraps and think I'm going to invest in the Moby Wrap for baby #3. Before I buy...I wanted to get some mama advice. The main reason why I want a sling or wrap is to be able to hold baby at the same time tend to my small children. I'm looking for something with security for the baby as well as comfort for me. I did the baby carrier with baby #2 and felt it worked great for standing still or just basic walking -- I want something where I have the most mobility while holding the baby. Any input would be great! Thanks!

The Moby Wrap is amazing and you can use it into to the toddler years.

There is a learning curve for putting it on but I practiced in front of the mirror until I got it right! :)

The best part about it was knowing that my daughter was securely held. I could sit on the floor with my son and pop right back up again without worrying that my baby was going to shift or fall out.

Congrats on your growing family!

I liked my moby wrap, and the fabric is 2 ply and strong, I thought. To me it felt very secure and comfortable and also versatile, you can eventually carry baby on your back even. The thing I didn't like about the moby is that it was difficult to put on, not for your run into a store real quick kind of trips, but great for keeping him on you in the house for the day while you go about your business. I also have a hotsling (pouch style) and an ergo, and I have worn a a mei tai. The hotsling I really liked for how easy it is, but it gets uncomfortable after a couple hours, especially as baby gets bigger, and one arm isn't fully functional. The ergo is great for longer periods of time, and is comfortable for many more months than the pouch style, but is quite a bit more expensive than a moby. It's similar to a baby bjorn but constructed to be easier to wear so it doesn't hurt. Same with the mei tai. I think a mei tai is easier to get on and off also, but don't know how many months it is comfortable for, I just used it once when he was smaller.

You could always check online and see if there is a babywearing group in your area. We have one through Yahoo groups and I believe also through meetup.com. You can usually go to meetings and try out other peoples' and maybe find deals on used ones too. Just google (your city) babywearers or something like that. For what you are wanting to use it for I would look at either the moby or a mei tai. Both are comfortable and secure, with the moby being a much closer snuggly fit and the mei tai being easier overall.

I've loved the moby wrap. It's a little tricky to figure out initially but provides for the greatest range of motion compared to other baby carriers. They also look a little strange. I kind of look like a Jedi in mine.

I love the MOBY WRAP! My baby is 20 lbs and 28" and we still use it. The fabric has held up quite nicely. I hated the Baby Bjorn - and regular one shoulder slings just didn't fit right. Good Luck.

I use both a sling and a wrap, depending on what I'm doing.(I also have a few Mei Tai's for when they get older). I don't like sitting in a wrap, while in a sling it's easier since the baby is either laying or sitting himself. A wrap will give you more comfort, for sure, but it doesn't have the quick, "popability" factor of a sling, which is great when you are out shopping, etc.

Also, I don't have a moby, but if it's made of the soft, easily stretchable fabric, you won't get much use out of it --it's great for newborns, but after that, worthless! I'd recommend a wrap that is made of a more solid material. There are a million kinds out there. You can check here for reviews: http://www.thebabywearer.com/
