one tip someone gave me when I asked about this which I found to be totally awesome is buy a few of those silicone muffin trays and use those instead of ice cube trays. They aren't expensive but if you're going to be making food for months, they are WAYYYYY easier than ice cube trays. You can make "pucks" and then easily peel them out of the tray and transfer to freezer bags. The trays are easy to bend plus very easy to clean. Pucks are the right size to use in the beginning as one or two meals and later on as a side portion.

I made baby food for both my kids. It can be time consuming, but it will save you a lot of money, and it feels good knowing exactly what your children are eating. You can start by just putting leftovers from your own dinner in a food processor. Put it in an ice cube tray and let it freeze. Once it is frozen, you can put the cubes of frozen baby food in a ziplock bag. Good luck!

I did this with my second son, because I was sick of paying for jarred baby food. I would just buy frozen veggies, cook them until they were soft and mush them up. I don't know if this is your first baby, they are just little humans, and can eat almost anything we can, with a few exceptions. After a few more months, you should be able to give him whatever you are having for dinner in tiny pieces. You could also use a food processor to puree the food. It is more time consuming, but cheaper, and healthier than the jarred. I did supplement with the jars when we were on vacation, or out of the house.

I just used ice cube trays and then zip locks. My daughter wanted finger food around 8-9 months, so then she just started to eat what we ate, with me mashing it up.

I made my own baby food,it's not that hard.
I had a little blender, and mushed peas, all kinds of fruits,
put them in those freezer tray for ice cubes.
Most of the time I just mushed what we ate that day, just put some to the side before I seasoned our food.
