Owning your own home business is really the only way to work from HOME. Unless you are contracted out by a company that will hire you for a specific job. So unless you already have associations with a company, owning a home business would be your best bet.
There are alot of scams and MLM's out there-so be careful!!

I have worked in insurance for over 16 years and decided to quit my traditional office job 10/07. Since 12/07 I have worked for an internet-based health insurance company. I also just started this week working for a local agent making calls for him from my home.

It took some being very creatitive, being very hungry, and being even more determined but I've really been able to carve out a little niche in the insurance world for myself from my home. I love it!

I do in-home childcare. I started when my 2nd daughter was 5 months old. To get listed as a provider with the state of Texas only costs $20 to get your background check and stuff done. I watch 3 little girls who are the same age as my daughter, who is now 17 months old. It's great! I get to stay at home with her, plus, I get to give the relief to 3 moms who otherwise would have to have their sweet girls in daycare. I make $300 a week and 2 of the kids are pretty part-time, so it's so worth it! It's not much, but for me, that's all I need.

I'm with Brandi, What did you do before you became Mom?

Requests like these bring out all the MLM'rs and people wanting you to invest in their business to make you money. It does not work that way. Some people (ones at the top) probably do make good money after they recruit so many new people. No offense to MLM'rs I just don't buy it.

Look back at what you did before mommy and work with that. My hubby is in sales and in a very niche market with raw materials. I'm good with organizing and keeping my office in good shape all the time so I manange all of his travel and in the meantime, he has clients calling on us looking for specific products and sometimes some consulting. This company we started landed in our lap unexpectedly. We started the corporation to protect ourselves tax and legal wise. You never know what might occur positively for you if you just look deeply into what you have done and what you are good at.
