My hunsband and I are taking off next week to spend time with our 13 month old daughter. We plan on taking her to the Ft. Worth Zoo, but don't know what else would be fun for her. I need suggestion and what/where would it be fun for her to go.

Hello, have you tried out this new birthday party company called The Royal Party Room?
They bring beautiful parties to whatever location you choose.
They also have different themes. The reviews are great too on parents connect.
The website is www.theroyalpartyroom.com

If your daughter enjoys water and you don't mind a short drive, Lake Mineral Wells State Park is a great place to take kids for a day. We took a passle of kids out there last week (ages 4 months - 7 years) and they played for HOURS. The water is warm, doesn't get deep (at the swim line, it was only at my waist) and kids love the sandy beach. I'd advise you to take an umbrella though - there is no shade on the beach. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/findadest/parks/lake_m...

Right next to the Fort Worth Zoo is the miniature train that runs along the Trinity River. It starts at 11 AM and the ride is about 40 minutes long. I took my 2-year-old yesterday and she loved it. It is not expensive and is a lot of fun.

I recommend that you see if you can audit a Kindermusik class or a gymboree class. They are really fun and the kids have such a blast. Plus, these classes have the parents right there interacting with their children as they learn something new and interesting. I did Kindermusik with my son when he was that age and it was such great experience for us both. However, all of this depends on what your son is interested in. There are some amazing websites that also can give you fun activities to do with your child in the comfort of your own home. Also, the museums in the Metroplex are great for a family outing. Some of them have a room designated for children. Despite whether they do or not, your child is never too young to be exposed to the arts. I also took my son to the museums in Fort Worth and he got a big kick out of it. Also, see if there is a science discovery center around town - they are great for kids. Sorry about running on and on, but I am a stay at home mom that is always looking for something interesting to do with my kids. Also, I used to teach pre-school so, I am always interested in any activity that promotes education. Good Luck and I hope your family has a wonderful time together.

There's a place called Jumping Party in Arlington (www.jumpingparty.com) that is an indoor inflated bounce house place. My son walked when he turned one so I went ahead and took him. He loved seeing all the other kids and bouncing around... and they let you, the parent, go on the 'rides' with your child if they're small, so that's nice.

You could try the Botanical Gardens in Ft Worth, but then again, my son is an out-doorsy type of kid, so I don't know if yours would love it like mine did.

Legacy Park on Green Oaks has bike trails for miles if you and your husband enjoy that sort of thing. You could put baby in a bike seat or bike trailer and have some fun that way. Or put on some roller blades and push baby in the stroller. There's a park and lots of room for the baby to run around and play, too. If it's a windy day, you may see people out flying kites.

I think that's all I got for a 1 yr old. Hope you have fun!!

The Children's Museaum in Fort Worth is sooooo much fun. They have an area for toddlers on the first floor (or basement). It even has a grocery store.
