Looking for Pediatrician on West Side

I would check out the Children's Clinic there just below St. V's. We take our little girl there and are very impressed with the people. We see Dr. Han and she is very good and thourough. I would also reccomend Dr. Sarah Cannon as well, she is my nephew's dr and I met her while in the hospital with my little girl.

I love my sons pediatrician. He is in the Peterkort Office Center. His name is Dr. Paul Thomas at Westside Pediatrics. He is a great doctor and doesnt push drugs on your child when he or she doesnt need them. I recommend him to everyone I know. he has a great personality and knows what he is doing.
I'm pregnant right now and my daughter will be seeing him as well.

I'm pretty happy with my ped Dr. McCloskey at Sunset Pediatrics. I hear the other doctors there are very good too.

I LOVE Dr Tomkoria at the Children's Clinic. It's in the office building right next to St V's too so very close by. They have office hrs every day (sunday's is at their other office) and they do evening care and there is also always a nurse or dr on call no matter what the time. I've been with the clinic for the last 6.5years and I have nothing bad to say about them and have been thrilled with the care and attention my kids have gotten from Dr Tomkoria as well as every other staff there.

We go to Dr. Alice Eaton at Westside Pediactrics. They have two offices, one next to St. V's and the other in Tansbourne. She is very sweet and easy to talk to. Their office staff and nurses are really nice too!

Lots of great recommendations in here for you. You are 5 mins from St V, but I'm not sure which way, so I'll give you another recommendation. We live up in Forest Heights and I take my daughter to Pediatric Associates of the Northwest. I interviewed several pediatricians based on referrals from OBGYN friends and other mothers, as well as doing bio research on the web. There are several excellent doctors at this group, one notably is Dr. Schunk (always comes up in the Portland's Best list). My daughter's doctor is Dr. Yasodha Gopal. We absolutely love her and the entire practice. They are always available and prompt to call back in off-hours. Good dose of experience, education and good mother/common sense. I take my son to Dr Bruce Birk at Pediaric Associates of the NW on 24th and Lovejoy. He is a fantastic pediatritian, and I would definately reccomend him. He is also the pediatritian to my OBGYN's kids and came highly reccomended from her. Good luck.

All the pedis at the Children's Clinic at St. V's are great. We see Dr. Richman, but he's getting ready to retire, so you might want to choose a different one.

I agree with everyone who has recommended Dr. Kel Snyder at Sunset Pediatrics. www.sunsetpediatrics.com Dr. Snyder has been our pediatrician since both of my children (girl 5, boy almost 3) were born. I grew up around pediatricians and this one is the cream of the crop. We have also had a couple of visits with Dr. Erickson and Dr. McKlosky and both are great, too. I can't recommend this practice enough and they are right in St. Vincent. Good luck!

Dr. Snyder at Sunset Pediatrics is great. They just moved to a new location in St. Vincent and they have evening and weekend hours. We've always been able to get in the day of our call when we have sick kids. He's very laid back and not eager to prescribe medication unless he thinks it's needed. My kids (1.5 and 3.5) both LOVE to go to the doctor so I guess you could say he's good with kids. Great advice staff and the other doctors have been great when we've seen them, as well. I recommend checking The Children's Clinic out. They are on Barnes Road and also in Tualatin. My daughter sees Dr Cannon in Tualatin, who is fabulous. But I've had to go see the doctor on call before and I've always felt that she was safe, protected and loved.

I have been using the same pediatrician for 11 years. She is located in Lake Oswego on Mercantile Dr. Laura Dahl, she is wonderful. I have three boys 11, 9, and 6. My youngest son has developmental issues, asthma, eating issues, behavioral problems and Laura has given me the support I need in any way she can. I cannot say enough about her.

I love The Children's Clinic in the Peterkort office buildings right by St. Vincents. We see Dr. Reynolds... in fact, I used to go to this doctor's office when I was a child. I highly recommend them.

I am also a mom with two kids - a daughter that just turned 15 and a son that will be turning 4 in April. We have had a couple different pediatricinas over the years, but have been with Dr. Paul Thomas at Westside Pediatrics for years now. They are located in the Peterkort Medical Buildings (right next to St. Vincent's - so it is super easy to find). They actually have more than one locatkion, but ths sounds like the closest one to you and I prefer to go to this one as well. They are wonderful - have a nice office which has a play area set-up for "sick" and "well" visits separated by a great fishtank to try to help reduce the risk for spreading the germs. ;) My husband and I love Dr. Thomas as do our children, even my MIL who was an RN for more than 39 years really likes him. We switched right after my son was born looking for a pediatrician which listened more to us, had a more open mind to our questions and concerns (including using more organics and herbal remedies - less meds). Even when the office is busy, there is always someone to talk to you - an advice nurse that will call you afterhours and help - and you usually get YOUR dr, unless he's on vacation. I understand once in a while - they have a life too - but a previous clinic seemed too busy for the couple Dr's on staff and we almost never saw our chosen Dr after very long waits. Not the case here. :) Westside Pediatrics and Dr. Paul Thomas is THE BEST, in my opinion. He fit for our family.

We've been using Dr. Alice Eaton with Westside Pediatrics for over 6 years and really like her. We've seen several other docs in the same group and have always been happy. They are in Peterkort right next to St. V.

OHSU has a great group of doctors. You can go on their website and hand pick who you would like to use based on their biographies. I found a wonderful doctor who has a degree from Harvard and an emphasis on holistics.

The Children's Clinic has 2 locations-Peterkort(St Vincent Hospital) and Tualatin(Meridian Park Hospital). All of the Drs in the group are great. Plus evening and weekend hours. Website: www.childrens-clinic.com

Dr. Robert Gillespie at the Children's Clinic at Peterkort Center is the best. My kids love him. My kids are almost exactly the same age as your kids -- 4.5 and 19 months. I have recommended him repeatedly. ###-###-####. Good luck with your move.

A great group of peds at Metropolitan Clinic on NW Cornell near the Krispy Kreme. We have used Dr. Ching since 1986 (a couple of my kids are past the peds stage now), also Dr. Moshofsky and Dr. Rydell there are both great too! My sixteen yr old saw Dr. Ching last fall, Dr. Ching is still wonderful!

all 4 of the docs are great, I really like Margaret McCloskey, but you can't go wrong with any of them. The office just moved to the new tower on the St Vincent's campus.

I would say go to Dr.Miller is # is ###-###-####. He is great I have children from the age of 18 to 2 and he is great with all of them. He is respectful of them and my choices as a mother.

Hello, We have the best ped. ever!
I have a 3 year old and a 18 month old and we have DR Deklotz for there ped.
My mother in-law was the head nurse at st. V's for over 30 years and she found him and used him to deliver her 3 boys over 30 years ago (he doesn't deliver any more) he has about 7 children of his own.
He is so kind and the kids absolutely love him!

They have two locations, one in Portland and one in Lake Oswego on Mercantile Dr. (she is in Lake Oswego). We are very happy with her and her nurse! Hope this helps!

I have found 2 GREAT pediatricians in this area for my 3 young children. Paul Thomas at West Side Pediatrics (he has an office next to St Vincent in Peterkort and one off of 185th and Cornell). He is fantastic!!!

We switched to Kaiser after my first child and after searching...I have found a wonderful pediatrician there as well. Donna Voldengen. I have had great experiences with both, and I was pretty particular in my search for my children's doctor.

Try Sunset Pediatrics. They are in the building right next to St.Vincents. I've taken my daughter there since we movied to Oregon 5 years ago but now she has out grown them and has moved on to an adult Dr. I loved it there. Good luck A.

We LOVE our pediatrician! Her name is Pilar Buerk and she's with Pediatric Associates of the Northwest. Their number is ###-###-####. She is very calm but very proactive when necessary. She has 4 kids of her own, so I feel very comfortable asking "mommy" questions, not just medical questions. The only challenge is that she job-shares, so she only works Mondays and Wednesdays. However, I still can usually get scheduled with her quite easily. We've also seen Dr. Bluhm there, and I really liked him as well. They have another office in Lake Oswego that also offers Saturday appointments for sick kids, but we've never been there. Good luck!

My son sees Dr. Michael Ericksen at Sunset Pediatrics. They are on the St. Vincent campus. He is great! We recently moved to Beaverton, and I did a lot of looking before we found him. He was recommended on this site. :-)
