I'm newly pregnant and looking for a female OB in the HEB area. There are some great responses posted here already, but just wanted to cast the net again. I'm leaning towards an office with multiple doctors, since it seems there would be benefits to that.
I've narrowed it down to several offices, but the hospital affiliations are different. Does anyone have thoughts on Harris Methodist HEB vs. North Hills Hospital? I hear good things about HM (plus they have NICU), but NH recently renovated their facility.
Thanks for all the great advice! After all the research, I finally decided to go with Dr. Barbara Webster of the Women's Group (Harris Methodist HEB). I've only had two doctor visits so far, 8 weeks and 12 weeks, but it seems to be going well. Estimated due date is 12/3!
I also LOVE Dr. Cipriano. She is very personable. And HEB is great! My experience with the lactation consultants at HEB was great as well. I really like that they have a follow-up clinic and will answer any questions you may have over the phone.

I also use Dr. Cipriano and I'm not sure I will go back to her. Although I love her and she delivered my first baby, I can't stand the office and nursing staff. HEB Harris is a great hospital though! The maternity ward is awesome!
I delivered at NH and although I disliked one of the nurses (even though my water broke and was gushing, she told me my water didn't break and was about to send me home. An HOUR later she said, "opps, you had meconium in your sample, so I guess it really did break!"), I loved everything else.
Well, except they didn't let me see my son after he was born for about 9 hours. I was extremely upset, since he was born healthy. I held him for about 30 mins after delivery and then they took him away. My husband demanded several times to see him, and they said "No." They also wouldn't show us which one he was in the nursery, so I was LIVID!
I did like the lactation consultants (I think Kay was one of them) and personal care I recieved, I really liked the pediatrition and loved the facility and I liked the prenatal class. My most favorite part was my doctor, Patrick Allen, but you are looking for a female.
Both hospitals are good, Having worked at North Hills I have found that you get more personalized lactation help than at HEB. The new unit is wonderful.

I use Dr. Dana Snell at the medical building attatched to North Hills. She is wonderful! I was told by many that North Hills was not a good place. I had my son before they finished the new rooms. I was treated so nice. The nurses were very helpful and so nice to me. The other staff were pretty nice as well. From what I understand there is even more room now! My room was pretty nice and spacy. It was private and I liked that a lot. My sister-in-law had a baby at a Dallas hospital and it was a shared room with no space or privacy. She hated it.
