Looking for Mothers Day Out in Chicago

Can anyone tell me if there is program for mothers where I could take my 2yo and leave her there for about 3 hr a week? It works like preschool but it's once or twice a week. I just think that some interaction with other children would be great for my daughter.
I know such programs exists in other states but I can't find it here in Chicago.

What can I do next?

Dear J.,

If someone would open up a place like you are describing, they'd probably make a fortune! I am looking for something like this too so if you find out about anything, can you let me know?
Good luck. and thanks, D.

Did you check the Chicago Park District - they have a lot of programs. I have my 2 year-old in a daycare 2 days a week while I work, my 4 year old is there also. They charge me by the day ($50). That is in Skokie, but I would think there is something similar in Chicago. Also check DCFS website - there is a listing of all Chicago daycare programs - centers and homes.

Good Luck,
P.

Hi J.! I am not sure where you live in Chicago but my kids go to a terrific "Mom's Morning Out" in Glenview at a Lutheran Church called St. Phillips. They offer it on Mon., Weds., or Fri., mornings.

I know there is a "Mom's morning out" somewere in Des Plaines and one in Mount Prospect. If you were interested, I could find out the names of those churches.

Chicago Park District might have some programs.

Hi J.,
I have a 2yr old boy and he misses the cut off.(He'll be 3 on 9/19) I really looked around for a preschool program and was quite disappointed. Then I found a church that has a school attached, with a very small student body. They were thrilled to let my son attend. It is also reasonable. My advice is to check every program in the yellow pages to see if they will allow your child to attend. We are very happy with the school and his teacher. FYI-there are 5 children total in his preschool class.
