Does anyone know of a good midwife on the east side. I recently switched insurance to Blue Care Network, so trying to figure out who and what they cover. Also, has anyone had any luck with insurance covering home birth??

I believe Wendy Pinter and Christa Bartley of Nine Short Months attend homebirths in your area. It's worth a call, they're amazing!!

If you find someone you like, please let me know! I'm a new doula in the area and I'd love to hear more personal experiences with midwives on the East side.

Eastside Ob/GYN on Little Mack in SCS(near 12 mile) has a midwife. I believe her name is Debbie- my friend uses and loves her.

I also live on the eastside but go to a practice of midwives/doctors in Troy; Oakland-Macomb OBGYN. I really feel it's worth the drive.
I loved the midwives and I even liked the couple of doctors I met. They only do hospital deliveries (Troy Beaumont), so I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for?
Although I delivered at the hospital, I was still able to have a completely drug-free and natural childbirth, it was perfect! They even have large tubs that you can labor in.

Deb Rossi is the nurse midwife that is out of Eastside OB/GYN. We attend births at home but I've never heard of Blue Care Network covering it. If you have a health savings account, you could use money from there, or consider using next years tax refund. A lot of homebirth midwives will work on a sliding scale too.

Metro Partners in Women's Health out of Novi & Farmington Hills...
I will be delivering with them any day now out of the Alternative Birthing Center at Providence Hospital in Southfield. They are really great... They may be able to refer you to a home birth midwife... I don't know if they attend them due to their overwhelming number of hospital client el.
