Looking for Inexpensive, New Clothing

I live in Salt Lake County and my sister lives in Tooele. We are both looking for a place to buy inexpensive new clothing for our kids to begin school this fall.

What can I do next?

Some good places I have found are Deseret Industries. Yuo can get good clothes there if you spend time looking for them. Some other places are Ross, Platos Clothing Store, Kid to KId.The V F factory outlet stores down in Draper Pointe have some good sales too. Some neighbors or relatives trade used clothing. I have found that because my kids are still growing and rough on clothes I don't want to spend a fortune I try to shop at D.I. When our kids start Junior High we make them start buying their own clothing and wash their own laundry. Being responible for their own clothes help them learn to shop on a budget, take care of what they have, choose their own style and learn how to do their own laundry care. There are lots of places, you find what works for you.

Susie's Deals is a good place for cheap clothes. They have closeout items from places like Target, and I've even found some American Eagle stuff there before. Everything is $5.99 or less. It's hit & miss though. Sometimes they have GREAT stuff and sometimes they have nothing, but it's worth it to check it out now & then. There is a location in Magna on 3500 S. and also one in South Jordan.

KMART is having a clearance event. 40% off the lowest marked price on all clearance items. I bought a ton of stuff for my little boy last week.

Good luck! I hope you can find some great deals!

Try susies deals in South Jordan on Redwood Road, next to Robert's Craft

There's a church in Salt Lake, Hilltop United Methodist Church (985 East 10600 South Sandy, Utah 84094)###-###-####. That has a HUGE consignment sale twice a year. The autumn one is Sept 21 & 22. The clothes at this sale are LIKE NEW and in really good condition. You can also sell your old things, you price them yourself, and then get 70% of what your price is, if it sells (the church keeps 30% for womens' and childrens' ministries).

Hi R.,

The 2 places that I've had some luck in are Mervyns (they are almost always having sales) and Downeast Outfitters (especially for the teenager). These 2 places seem to have really good deals and still have clothes that are in style. Also, Target might not be a bad place to look - especially their clearance racks. I always find great deals there ( a shirt for $7 and a tank for $4, for example). Not bad! Good luck.
