You don't need dip for the fruit. I have done a "fruit salad" for the past 3 years for my daughters' b-day parties, and it is always the first thing to go. I buy red, green, and yellow apples and slice them up and also quarter oranges and throw them in the mix. The kids all love it, and it's cheap and easy.

I have also done pinwheels. Just spread cream cheese over a tortilla and add chopped veggies like carrots, bell peppers and brocolli, add some peas and roll it up. Then just slice up the roll. You could also do variations using a flavored cream cheese. I hadn't thought of it before, but try using strawberry cream cheese and adding fruit for a sweet treat.

I also buy the veggie chips. They come in a big bag at Sam's, and are green, red, and white. The chips are spinach, potato, and tomatoe I think. They are much better than traditional potato chips.

Good Luck and enjoy the party!

I would have a tray of fresh veggies with a dip and a tray of fresh fruit with a dip as well.

Can go wrong with chicken fingers and apples and dip -
make the chicken fingers yourself and keep warm- you know they are all chicken then
Nothing wrong with making smoothies too- have the kdis help- they will love it!
Stay away from any peanut products

My daughter and her friends love cheese chunks. If you can find low-fat cheese and pile a plate with them, they will eat them. We serve reduced-fat wheat thins on the side so the kids can make "sandwiches" as well.

Here's a link to a good banana muffin recipe:

They're really easy and fast to make, and I put chocolate chunks in them. Kids adore them. You can use liquid egg whites in place of the egg to make them lower in fat if you want. This recipe makes 4 dozen mini-muffins, which is the perfect size for little kids.
