I am pregnant with my 3rd child and am seeking a new doctor for the baby. I am due in 4 weeks so am in a little hurry to find one. I am not happy with the Doctor that we have now. I am looking for just a family Doctor that way we all can go to the same location instead of a pediactric doctor. But am willing to go to a pediactric doctor if necessary. So if anyone knows of a good family doctor or pediactric doctor please let me know!!! Thanks!

What can I do next?

I love my pediatrician....but he's in Lakewood Ranch....Dr Miguel Alvarez. I have two boys 7 and 9 and he's been their doc since infants.

We see Camilla Seilhan at Intercoastal Medical Group on Hyde Park St. We LOVE her and are always in-and-out in decent time. My kids see Ted Meyer. We absolutely adore him and would go ourselves if he'd see grownups! I know you are looking for a family doctor, and Seilhan is great. But I just love the way "Dr. Ted" is with my boys (5 and 3). My youngest ASKED to go see Dr. Ted yesterday when he was sick. There's never long waits, he has early, late, and Saturday hours as well. He wears bowling shirts rather than a lab coat and doesn't overprescribe meds like a lot of docs we've dealt with in the past. He's also VERY generous with meds samples (which is fabulous for us and any other family struggling to make ends meet!) and is never condescending toward us as parents or anything but amazing with the kids. Good luck with baby #3 and in your doctor search!

I was not happy with my original pediatrician either and ended up switching to Dr. Keeley. She is wonderful, gentle and extremely thorough. Her staff is wonderful as well. They always are so sweet, welcoming and helpful every time I go in. Dr. Keeley is a mom herself and is affiliated with several local advisory boards. She always comes in, pauses at the door and very quietly starts singing or sweetly talking to my son so that he is not frightened and always talks to him very gently explaining each thing she is about to do. She even writes up a little progress report like a school teacher. She is very understanding and not condescending toward parents like some other doctors and LISTENS.

Congratulations! I love, love, our pediatrician Dr. Keeley. She has offices at the end of Bahia Vista near Sarasota Memorial as well as an office just off the Univeristy Exit on Cooper Creek. I HIGHLY recommend both her and the Cooper Creek office. We never have to wait and she is amazing. The Cooper Creek office is brand new and wonderful. She is great with our son and when we had to bring him up to All Children's Hosptial after he was born she called me daily, and the staff there had heard of her and also raved. If I eer have a question there is always a nurse that I can talk to immediately. I can't recommend Dr. Keeley more hightly. There are other doctor's at the office and some of my friends also see them and are very pleased. Her offices are "Pediatric Associates of Sarasota" on East ###-###-####. Or "Pediatrics in the Park" on Cooper Creek Blvd. ###-###-####.
