Looking for Acupuncturist Recommendations in NYC
Hi ladies,
I'm due on Friday, March 7th, and have a ton of money to spend from my 2007 FSA account, so I thought I might try acupuncture to move along labor and just to relax. Does anyone have any recommendatios in Manhattan? Upper west side or midtown would be great, but it's not mandatory.
Thanks!
J.

I really loved Suzanne Hill at Turtle Bay Acupunture (contact info below):
I was 16 days overdue and she came highly recommending for stubborn labors. She definitely helped things along in a comforting and competent way. She sensed my anxiety and dealt with that as well as my physical needs. She did a lot of pressure points, massage and needles. I highly recommend her!

Hi J.,
The acupuncturist I know, he's name is Max Dente.
He is on 5th Av. and 28th St. He's phone ####-###-####.
Also if you would like to try shiatsu after the baby is born for the stress and soreness.
It is a massage (finger pressure) on the acupuncture points.
I am a shiatsu practitioner and I can tell you more about it if you are interested.
Fell free to call me at ####-###-####.
Thank you and good luck on your labor.

Try Turning Point Acupunture. They are on Broadway & 60th. The number is ###-###-####. I used to see Amanda Silver for fertility and pregnancy issues - she's great. Not sure if they will see you so close to due date. First appt is a longer consult on your overall health, then based on whatever issues/complaints you have they will treat you.
I really loved it for the couple of years I did it.

I am a mom and Lactation Consultant. I have used acupuncture for induction - when I was post date and being threatened with medical induction.
Acupuncture works when the baby is ready. You may be feeling uncomfortable and want your baby on the outside. I would consider letting your baby stay in until he/she is ready. You will have an easier time with the baby in terms of feeding, contentment etc.
Enjoy the end of your pregnancy and I wish you a great birth!

I saw Suzanne Connole towards the end of my pregnancy to help with some back and hip pain, and later on, to help get labor moving. She is wonderful, and specializes in pregnant patients (she is also a doula). She is on 5th Ave in the 20s which was not very convenient for me, but it was worth it to get to her.
Here is her contact info:
