Looking for a GREAT Pediatrician

We recently moved to Tampa and my son had his six month check-up yesterday. The pediatrician was just so-so, the office was very blah and I was there for nearly two hours... I'm looking for a warm, friendly practice that runs efficiently, has good triage nurses (in case I feel a little neurotic about this or that and feel the need to call in) and is not too far from our home in Tampa Palms. Got any recommendations?

What can I do next?

Never mind - I just found some good recommendations.

Thanks,

I've taken my son to Teena Hughes, whose office is just a bit east of Fletcher and Bruce B. Downs since for the past 4.5 years. She's a really good doctor, and the office runs pretty well considering she has a busy practice. I like her because has four boys of her own, ages 3 to early teens. She's seen it all, and I trust her advice.

i know what you are looking for - but it's in South Tampa. My pediatricians are wonderful. I have been going there for 14 years now (since my oldest was newborn). Her pediatrician joined Pediatric Healthcare Alliance years ago and the doctores are still wonderful and the office staff is great.

If you are willing to drive, it really is worth the trouble. I can give you the website. Pediatric Helathcare may have an office close to you.

Since you are in Tampa Palms, you may want to check South Pasco (Wesley Chapel)

We also use Pediatric Healthcare Alliance, but we use the Northiside office. It's on Fletcher across from the USF Golf Course. We use Dr Perkins, but all the doctors are super nice.

My 2 year old daughter has been seeing the doctors (specifically Dr Arana) at "My Pediatrics", which is located in the Circuit City / Linens N Things plaza in New Tampa, since she was in the hospital. The office staff is SO nice, all the doctors are really wonderful - they listen, answer questions, accomodating for 'emergency' apts, I never feel rushed during a visit and the couple of times that I've called after hours, I've gotten a call within 10 minutes. Plus, they are open Saturday mornings (and I believe Sunday morning as well). I highly recommend this practice.

I take both my kids to Pediatric Healthcare Alliance located on the corner of SR 54 and Bruce B Downs. If you took the highway it isn't far. They have offices everywhere and are also open at night. I love them. Dr. Jacob is very caring and knowledgable. You can look at their webiste http://www.pedialliance.com/

hope this helps

I also go to Pediatric Healthcare Alliance. My 2 1/2 yo twin boys see Dr. Wilde and we LOVE him! He used to be at the Wesley Chapel office, but is now at the Lutz office:
1942 Highland Oaks Blvd.
Suite B
Lutz, Florida 33549

It is a new office, the office staff/nurses are great and we have never had to wait more than half an hour- even for a last minute sick appt. We have also seen Dr. Hartman (who is also now at the Lutz office) and Dr. Jacob (who is still at the Wesley Chapel office).

Good luck!
K. :)
