I am thinking of doing after school child care in my home in north Carrollton / Lewisville area. Does anyone know the going rate to charge for this per hour??? I need to know the going rate so I can decide if I want to do this. Any advice or info will be appreciated!

What can I do next?

Contact Child Care Licensing in your area and ask to speak with a case worker. Most of these momitor both schools and "in-home" care, which is what you would be considered. You can go to a day care in your area and ask them who their case worker is and why. They should be willing to give it to you. Visit their site, which you can Google, for details on what your requirements are for your home, ratios to maintain, foods required to be served, etc...

Full-Day, in-home care averages about $200 per week, so I would think $60-$75 per week for a few hours after school would be fair. Especially if you would be providing transportation and after-school snacks.

I keep babies at my house but I have a friend that needs someone to watch her 7 year old after school.
Thanks,
