Hi y'all! Ok so saturday all evening I played volleyball. Im not athletic at all and let me tell u im paying for it! My stupid arms are sooo sore I could barely carry in the groceries! Well I noticed I have a small knot feeling on the side of my shoulder blade kind of in the middle of my back. I've never noticed it before this weekend. Im not sick or anything could I have over done it! Can you muscles knot up like that? It does hurt if I stretch too hard or try to reach and touch it. What do y'all think?

What can I do next?

Trigger point massage is awesome for that! I get mine at a chiropractor's masseuse. And those little knots can actually cause many seemingly unrelated symptoms.

Yes, your muscles can knot up like that. I have this type of pain in my back at least once a week. I get it from sleeping poorly (our bed sucks), exercising, not sitting correctly at my desk, stress....the list goes on.

The only things that help me are long massages (I have to pay for them from a professional), hot jacuzzi baths, and time.

Good luck! Have hubby give you a rub down!

Yes I beleive muscles can knot up like that.
Back when I could afford a massage, the therapist would always say "wow, you have a really big knot here in your upper back".
She would work really h*** o* getting that knot out. A little discomfort.
If you can't get a professional massage, how about having someone just give you an upperback massage for 15 mins?

Time to tell your hubby "Lets play masseuse, you be the masseuse!"
After your massage do a cold pack and then a heat pack.
Sore muscles hurt!

There is fascia between the skin and muscle. That is what knots up.
If you can't get a massage, take a tennis ball and place it where the knot is. Then back up against the wall and let it press on there while you do deep breathing.
