"Kidcare" Insurance Providers
ok, my son is on medicaids "medically needy share of cost", which doesnt really help us much. i am haveing to apply him to the "kidcare" program, and need to choose a provider. we had/ or have "medipass" for the medicaid provider. medipass is not on the list of providers for the "kidcare". there is: "citrus healthcare", "amerigroup florida", "staywell/wellcare of florida", "healthease", "universal", "united health care", "sunshine state health plan" to choose from. does anybody know or have good exsperiences with any of these companies? i have heard bad things about the "united health care" one from my pediatrician. i need to choose one soon, or they ("kidcare")will choose one for me. please help me to choose the best one! thanks!!!
So What Happened?™
thank you, (everyone),for your advice! i will try the "amerigroup". (again, thanks!)

My son had the Amerigroup. I had no problems with them at all what so ever.
Hope this helps. Have a great Friday.

We had a good experience with Amerigroup in the past!

We had Amerigroup also. No problems there. The dental is what gave me trouble. There was 1 doctor in St. Pete who would take it. She had a 6 month or longer waiting list. We went once and I never even saw her face because they don't let you go back there. I never even got a consult at the end. Maybe it's changed...
I dropped Kidcare eventually because they wanted income verification every 6 months. (I hope that's changed!) So the first part of the year would show crappy income, then my husband would get a bunch of overtime for the second 1/2 of the year. They kept changing our payments and I never was sure what to pay. We'd go from $20. a month to $120. a month. There was never a medium figure. They also didn't average it over 12 months with a w-2. So I got fed up and quit! Probably not the best idea... I may try again. I paid cash last summer for a broken arm and it pretty pricey! But if you have cash the doctors do give a better deal.

My kids have been on Amerigroup and we have not had one problem with them. Kidcare on the other hand has been a thorn in my side since January. A small piece of advise, keep track of your payments and a list of who you talk to there incase a problem arises. Good Luck.

My kids were on Amerigroup and I loved it. We had it for almost 4 years. Never a problem.
