Keeping Pjs Zipped

My 18-month-old son is warm wearing PJs that zip from the footie to the neck. He's learned to unzip them and does it walking around the house and, more frustratingly, in bed when he should be calming down to sleep. We're worried he's going to be cold at night and if we check on him, he'll wake up!

Any tips for keeping those PJs zipped?!

Thanks!

M.

Put the zip PJs on backwards! This is a great trick! If they have feet, cut them off... If worried about feet being cold, put Robeez booties (or target knock-offs) on child whilte sleeping.. they are comfortable enough to sleep in and most toddlers/babies can't get them off!

Good luck!

I had the same problem and found two things work. Put his PJs on backwards or I used a diaper safety pin and pinned the zipper to the jammies so she couldn't undo it. both worked for me!

My mom used to use those special diaper pins that have a safety cover on the end, so kids can't undo them and poke themselves. Just put the pin through the top hole of the zipper and pin to the p.j.'s. Most cloth diapers don't use pins anymore, but you still might be able to find some safety pins that work like that.--K.

Use a safety pin to attach the zipper to the cloth of the pajamma. I babysat for a family whose daughter was doing the same thing. They had great success with this method.

You can put them on backwards and just turn the feet around or just cut the feet off. That way they can't reach the zipper.

I went back and read the other responses....just an fyi...my twin girls who are now 2 can get a safety pin undone....in a matter of seconds....that was my biggest concern when trying to come up with a solution to them taking their diapers off and playing with their poop. Just to test them, put special covers on and safety pinned them on...and they used their teeth to get them off...little houdini's
