JFF- What's Your Favorite News Source?
My husband and I always have NPR on in the car. We read the NYTimes and the Washington Post every day. I have to scan local newspapers for information for my job (but I don't really enjoy it because the writing is under par and the content is lacking..just being honest :)). About once a week we watch NBC Nightly News, but we don't really like to watch televised news channels..however, we rarely miss an episode of the Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
How about you?
So What Happened?™
Aaaw, party pooper, Tracy K!! I see your point..The Daily Show and Colbert Report are not news per se, but if you don't know what's going on IN the news, then you can't fully appreciate the jokes, right? :)

I'm with you - public broadcasting (mostly KQED/NPR), the Daily Show and Colbert Report. Occasionally BBC or Al Jazeera English. I was surprised the first time I saw Al Jazeera - it's a legitimate news agency. They have some great documentaries on regions other news corporations don't have access to. They try to tell the story of the oppressed. While not the most objective, their view point is representative of many and often insightful. The Comedy Central shows are obviously comedic entertainment. But all news shows' primary purpose is entertainment. John Stewart and Stephen Colbert catch me up on what is being covered on other news channels. God love them!

I love John Stewart and Stephen Colbert. I go to bed with those guys everynight! But ladies....that's not news. It's parody, farce, comedy. Yes, they discuss the news, but it's for entertainement purposes only!

I never miss an episode of the Daily Show and will usually watch the rerun in the afternoon here..just because we can not have it too loud at night..so I miss a punch line or two.
