JFF. What Is a Dish You Are Proud to Cook
My egg roll, fried rice and steamed veggies meal ALWAYS turns out great. So i cook this when we have sudden guests. I just know it will turn out and i keep ingredients on hand for this meal. What is something you make that you like and it turns out great each time you make it?

Shepherd's Pie. It is my kids favorite, and it always looks and tastes delicious. My nephew recently brought his new girlfriend over and that is what I made for her, and she ate 2 helpings.

I'm proud to cook my moms legacy meals...her lasagna and her stuffing always get raves.
I get a lot of requests for triple chocolate cake.
I'm really proud when I serve Baklava or Tira Misu. They are both painstakingly detailed and meticulously authentic recipies, but they make a beautiful presentation that people ooh and ahh over.
I also like to do fun cool things to serve fruit, like fruit skewers sticking out of a cut cantelope full of fruit dip or melon balls in a fancy carved watermelon rind. I like to make things look festive and pretty when entertaining. My family is the crock pot and paper plate crowd, so they go nuts when I show up with a strawberry topiary or something they say is too pretty to eat.

Hmm... tough to pick just one. Top favs: chili, meatloaf, veggie lasagna, and veggie pizza. All those except the meatloaf, I'm begged to bring to functions, every single time.
Now I'm hungry, you ladies c'mon over ;) Someone bring dessert!

White lasagna - make with homemade alfredo sauce and ham and chicken. Super fattening but delish!

My husband, myself, and my friends agree: I cook THE BEST fried fish, shrimp, and crawfish etouffe. I also make beignet bourees which are great. (Stuffed with fruit or rice/etouffe).
When having a guest over that I want to impress, I cook smothered filet mignon topped with gorgonzola (this is awesome, marinated in balsamic vinegar, rosemary, dijon, and other stuff), with some special marinated green beans, garlic mashed red potatoes, and an apple cheesecake. That's my "go to dish" when someone comes over for a dinner party for the first time.

Deer enchiladas --- my husband gobbles them up, then I made them for a friend recently (dropped the enchiladas off) and her husband called a few hours later and said "That was deer? How did you make that? That was so yummy!"
