Jff--did You Ever Get a Pixie or Crew cut....and Love It?

I hope I"m not the only gal out there who dislikes combing and styling long hair. Now that I've been married for a long time, hubby does not want me looking too manly. So, my hair is just above my shoulders. When I was single, I had either the pixie cut or a crew cut. Quite frankly, when I had the short hair, I found it difficult to find guys to date me. I let my hair grow out and Voila!, I was married in two years.

What can I do next?

I have a pixie cut and love it. I have grown my hair out and hate it. My husband would probably rather I have longer hair....but it's MY head and I love love love short hair. It's so much easier!

I have straight, fine hair that does not grow out well. It just looks flat and thin when it gets longer. I've had short hair for so long that when I grew it to chin length earlier this year I couldn't stand it. It took three minutes to blow dry and I'm used to one minute or none, and when I ran or worked out my sweaty hair was in my face. Yuck!

I'll have short hair cuts 'til I die! The men in my life can just deal...have not had a problem getting dates with short or short/spiky hair.

I did! and yes loved it ! When I first met my hubby in High School my hair was to my shoulders. Then one day I just decided to hack it off and loved it. He was ok with it but back then I really did not care what anyone thought about me. I used to dye it all fun whacky colors too. It was awesome and a blast. Now I have hair down past my shoulder blades and there are many days I wish to just go to the salon and hack it off again and dye it a funky color. But I just feel like the "mom" part of me says I shouldn't.

My husband loves my long hair so I won't part with it- he's worth the work it takes to take care of it. After all, how often do I look at my OWN hair? He's the one I'm out to impress. So, long it is! I've had it short before and he didn't mind at all, but I love knowing that he loves my hair.

I love pixie cuts, but they never seem to look as cute on me as they do on others, I think I just don't have the face shape for it :(

uh, no, not since my mom gave me the "dorthy hammill" hair cut in grade school! I have naturally thick curly hair and it was just....sad...so I have extra long hair just to make up for the trauma it caused me! =) Oh yeah, most men definately LOVE long hair. In fact, mine is past the middle of my back and I mentioned to hubby over the weekend that I wanted to get it cut to just past my shoulders and he's like, how long, how short, EXACTLY where would it be...I was like holy cow buddy! It still would be considered LONG!!! So good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Some women are able to rock short hairs styles, some cannot. I am one who can not pull short hair off...But I wanted to help little girls who were facing hair loss and just had 14 inches cut off and donated. I only wanted 10 inches cut-hairstylist when scissor happy and cut off 4 inches more. My hair was down to my duppa, now shoulder length. I HATE IT. I can't wait for my hair to grow back. Haven’t had shoulder length hair in 30 years....I was traumatized as a little kid (mom made me get waist length hair cut…Dorothy Hamill duo too-I HATED IT!)

I agree most men do like women with long hair…all the guys who actually recognize me are in shock to see my hair gone, as they all liked my long flowing hair….it will grow back

When I was 30lbs lighter I had a pixie cut and I loved it! I could not pull it off now. My face is too full in my opinion although it would be easier. My husband loved my hair short we were dating when I got it chopped. So hard to grow out though so I don't think I would do it again but when I see pictures of myself I always love my hair but I can't say that about other styles I have had!

Oh I could never cut my hair that short! I cried when I cut my hair off just above my shoulders. It took 3 1/2 years, but it is back to my waist again.
I love it long and so does my husband, so long it will stay. I will never cut my hair any shorter than halfway down my back.

I LOVE short hair, I love the freedom to wake up wet my hands and tousle my hair and be ready to go go go...I have had hair long enough I could sit on and as pretty as long hair is it can never compare to the ease and comfort of short hair. My SO detests short hair so I go back and forth, I will grow it out, then get it cut short. My last hair cut was a bit of a shocker, I went in to get my shoulder length hair cut in what I asked for was a longer version of the pixie...with enough hair left to have some feminine wisps around my face, and well, she chopped it ALL off, no feminine wisps...maybe an inch long all over ( possibly shorter!) I was in shock...but after the shock wore off I adored it, in fact, now at a month later I feel like my hair is Too long = )
IF i was not a girly girl I do not think I could pull it off...but I dress very girly and I do not go out anymore without makeup! Don't want to scare anyone
= )

If you talking pixie cut as in Alice from the first twilight (best example I could think of) then no but wish I had hair that would do that.
I got a super short cut before going to boot camp and regretted it and took forever to grow back lol. I personally like my long hair b/c I can throw it up when I get tired of it or style it if I want. With my thick hair, going short meant more time every day styling with my hair type. Well maybe not now that I know about thinning hair but then it did lol.
That's strange guys are turned off by short hair. I love pixie cuts and the one that is higher in the back and goes gradually longer to the front, it's cute.

Yes, I've had a pixie cut. Surprisingly, it was more work then having longer hair. When I'm having a bad hair day (like, everyday) I'll throw my hair into a bun, a braid, twist, etc. With short hair, it's always down and growing it out is...clumsy. Still, I quite liked it. It's nice to do big changes sometimes. ;-)

I did when I was going into my senior year of high school. I'd always had very long hair before that (half way down my back). I LOVED it. For about 2 weeks. Then I couldn't wait for it to start growing out again. I have never had it shorter than my shoulders since then. I have often been complimented on my hair over the years.

I read once that men, generally speaking, are attracted to women who look "touchable". Which translates to softly styled hair (not too many products or cuts that look poky or prickly), and soft "touchable" clothing (think sweaters and velvet, lol). I think it is true. I pretty much stopped ever wearing lip GLOSS after my husband told me that he hates it. Men see a sticky mess when they see heavy lip gloss, lol.

I just cut my hair off! And now have a pixie. I knew what I was getting into, because I had done this about 4-5 years ago. I had been wanting to do it again, and my husband gave me the ok! He says its really sexy. I wear it like a pixie or I spike it up kinda messy. I get compliments on it all the time. Which is a good thing, cause I am 38 weeks preggers, so I was a little nervous I was going to hate it!

I have a very short-but-feminine pixie cut that has been my standard, in various forms, over the past 20 years. The only time I really grew it out was so I could wear it up for my wedding and then 3 days later it got cut because I really could not stand it long! It's very fine and when it gets longer, it's really pretty limp and lifeless, but I've found plenty of ways for it be short and sexy! It was short when I met my hubby and he once confessed to not liking short hair on women, but it didn't stop him from being attracted to me and asking me out! Sometimes there are short hair cuts that can look a little too "butch" on some women (sorry if that offends anyone) but if it's done right, it can look great. I usually look through hairstyling magazines to get ideas and make sure the stylist cuts it with razor scissors for some texturing that allows me to style it with a little styling wax or glue. Way easier to manage when you are in a hurry and I really appreciate it in the summer when it's hot!

I have long hair down to the middle of my back and I HATE it. I had a pixie cut for few years and it was amazing. for most of my life my hair has been short (above my shoulders) just because I don't like dealing with it. It takes way to mess with which is why it is always up, either in a ponytail or in a clippy. The only reason it is long is because my husband prefers it long. After i have this baby, I will cut it to my shoulders at least.
