Hey everyone,
My daughter is 20 months old and I am pretty sure that she wants to start potty training... everytime she takes her diaper off she goes and sits on the potty.. she tells me pee...or poop but never really goes on the potty... should I start buying her pull-ups or underwear or is it too early? Please help. Thanks.

What can I do next?

It might be a little too early but keep encouraging her and let her set her own pace as time goes by. Looks like she is headed in the right direction! I do know that girls are easier to potty train (in general-not always) than boys so I would say that it is probably time for Pull Ups. My boy (almost 22 months) is taking off his diaper and pooping on the floor. He doesn't understand the going on the potty concept thing yet although I have one in each room for him to use. right now I am duct taping the tabs of his diapers so he can't pull them off. That your daughter is telling you when she has to go and sitting on the toilet is great, even though she isn't actually going in the toilet. That is the component we are missing over here. I think you will have great success!

NOT AT ALL! I have a friend with a 10 month old fully potty trained. If your daughter is ready, then by all means, DO IT! Less time that you have to buy and change diapers! Go for it and good luck!

wish my daughter was doing that! you can start potty training at birth, if u research it, which i've been doing since i can't get my daughter to go on potty. sounds like your daughter is trying to get YOU ready for potty training!

if you ask me, its never to early to start introducing it but it doesnt mean its gonna happen. My first son was 13 months when he starting showing interest, being a new mom i jumped on it, he was fully potty trained at 2 1/2. Now my second son showed no interest until he was about 2 1/2 and was fully potty trained before he was 3. So go with your gut! If she wants to, let her. But dont drive yourself nuts like i did. They pretty much do it when they are ready. I would try it for like a week or so and if we didnt make any progress i would back burner it. Good luck!

IT IS NEVER TOO EARLY TO POTTY TRAIN!!!! as long as your baby is on board go ahead and stick her on the potty. When they show intrest is the best time to start.
