I have a 16 month old who I nursed for 3 months then I just dried up, and now a year later almost I'm lactating here and there, is it still possible for me to lactate after so long? or is it a sign of pregnancy?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

THANK TO EVERYONE!!!! The advice helped calm my nerves, I would love another child byt not at this moment in time, I would like my older son potty trained b4 we have another.

I don't know about pregnancy, but my mom had that happen to her years later and it ended up being a med. issue. I would recommend going in to your doctor just to be sure everything is fine. I am sorry this is really straight forward, just trying to let you know it is best to know and not sit on it like my mom did.

I lactated for 3 years after my son it takes time so dont worry it is perfectly normal.

I could still get some out when my son was 7 years old.

YES!! I nursed my son for almost a year then weaned him. It was a good year+ before my milk dried out completely, which is perfectly normal according to my Ob/Gyn. Don't worry!!

I had the same problem after I had my son. I was told it is perfectly normal. I knew then that there was no possiblity that I was pregnant. When I was pregos with the next 2, that was a clue to me something was going on. Hope this helps

I nursed all of my ten children for anywhere from 2-3 mos. on the 2nd one to 1.5 years or more. They say if the baby sucks on you again it'll bring the milk back to the same degree they nurse. I wouldn't think it a sign of pregnancy tho'.

By the way, in working for your apt. complex; if they ever need an ozone blaster to clean up apartments in between renters or an air purifier for a smoking or pet-owning renter, let me know. I can help with either situation.
