Infant Chiropractor Referrals

Hi Moms,
I am taking my 11 month old son to the ENT doctor on Thursday because of persistant fluid in his ears for the last 6 months. I have read a few suggestions about trying an infant chiropractioner instead and just wanted to see if anyone had any referrals in the Plano/Frisco/McKinney/Richardson area? I would like to think about this as an option before deciding on tubes (if that is what the ENT does suggest). Thanks so much!

What can I do next?

I don't know of any Infant Chiropractor but just wanted to give you my 2 cents. My youngest which turned 3 in May numerous of ear infections(Evry time we turned around)He was on antibotics just about every month. Finally we put tubes in his ears at 13 months and this day he has only had 1 VERY MILD ear infection.
He was in/out in 15 min and was walking/playing the Very next day. The hardest part was right after cause everything seemed louder to him which scared him but other than that no prob.
Good Luck
M.

Hi E.!

I highly recommend Chiropratic care for infants. Dr. Melissa Shelton at Preston and Hedgecoxe in Plano. Just south of Hwy 121. ###-###-#### She is an amazing Doctor and a genuinely wonderful person. Both of my daughters and I see her, and she has definately helped not only my children, but many, many others in avoiding the tube route. The added benefit of Chiropractic care, is that it is not just addressing the one specific problem, but the overall wellness. My kids don't get sick NEARLY as much as the other kids in their classes. And even if they do pick up a bug (because it's just going to happen) they are over it much quicker.

Good Luck!
J.

Hi E. -

I worked for a chiropractor for 8 years and we had tremendous success in treating babies with ear infections. The first question he would ask is "is the baby on dairy?" We found that once dairy was eliminated and replaced with either soymilk or goats milk, that there were no more ear infections. Hope this helps!

I agree that Chiropractic care can help greatly with ear infections. We took my daughter religiously and she never had an ear infection. My insurance changed when my son was born and our chiropractor was no longer covered and I couldn't afford to continue to go out of my pocket so my son never went. After we stopped going my daughter had 2 ear infections over a 6 month period. My son had ear infections all the time, we had to have tubes put in. I really think that if I had been able to continue chiropractic care my son wouldn't have suffered so much.

We used Dr Joe Dennis in Plano at Parker & Alma - Dennis Family Wellness Center - ###-###-####. (I just changed jobs and he is on my plan again so we are starting to go back!!!)

Good luck!
