Implantation Bleeding????

I had a miscarriage on August 20th and got my period again 31 days later like I always do. I was due to get my period yesterday (thursday) and on Tuesday when I would go to the bathroom and wipe I had some brownish discharge. That happened a couple of times on Tuesday and then a couple times on Wednesday and then on Thursday a couple more time but only when I would wipe after going to the bathroom. It was never red or heavy. I took a pregnancy test last night and it said I was pregnant. Has anyone ever experienced this? I am wondering if it is implantaion bleeding. I am going to the doctor today to have my HCG tested and then again on Monday. I just an so scared of having another miscarriage. Thanks for your help and I will update with what they say after my blood is drawn on Monday.

What can I do next?

I did have this happen, but can't remember how long I had the brownish (old blood) discharge after my miscarriage. When I got pregnant with my oldest child, we weren't sure right away if I was really pregnant because I did not have a regular cycle in between. We had to go the clinic for the HCG test 2 times to see if my levels were rising as they would if I were pregnant. I found out that I was pregnant and they watched me very closely given my history. I did experience bleeding with my 2nd child too and found I had a tear in my placenta that repaired itself. This is really a scary time, an unsettling feeling. I wish the best for you. Reading about your situation really brings me back. Take care!

I'm really sorry to hear about your miscarriage, T.. Not only is that a hard thing to go through, but it can make future pregnancies scarier. I have had similar bleeding to what you're describing all four times I've been pregnant (two sons, one early miscarriage, and I'm currently 20 weeks pregnant). The first time, it went for 3 or 4 days, I think, long enough for me to suspect it was just a light period, but I tested anyway, and sure enough I was pregnant. With my second son, I bled off and on for probably the first month, and it was the same this time. The difference was that when I did miscarry, the bleeding was definitely red and heavier. But I think that some women are just prone to bleeding early in pregnancy, and I've certainly heard of implantation bleeding.

I'm glad you're already on top of getting Hcg tests; that will give you better answers and hopefully ease your mind. Good luck, and I look forward to hearing what you find out!

I never had a miscarraige, but I did have the exact same bleeding when I was due to get my period. It did turn out to be implantation bleeding- I am 36 weeks pregnant now. From the little I know, it sounds exactly like what happened to me and there have been no problems so far (and I'm almost done!). Hopefully it will turn out to be the same for you! Good luck!

Sorry for the late response. I had implantation bleeding with my first baby. Let me know how your appointment went.

I went threw the same thing after my miscarriage. Mine turned out to be a false alarm caused by the hormones from the last pregnancy. However two months later i was pregnant and gave birth to a health wonderful son. So good lucky to you and let us know what happened.

Just a quick note-I had a friend that had your exact same story--she had never had a D&C after the miscarraige, and it turned out that there was enough tissue left to register on the preg test. So, chances are you ARE pregenant, but just make sure your doc checks it all out. Good luck to you!

I had this with both of my pregnancies! With my son I thought I had my period. I put in a tampon at work and when I got home there was nothing on it! And sure enough I was pregnant. With my current pregnancy, I also had the brown spotting and occasionally some light pink spotting, but no period. It sounds very promising. Good luck-keep us posted!!

when I discovered I was pregnant I had a little bleeding right away and it was nothing to be concerned with. besides if it is brownish then it is old blood so it could have been in there a while and just finally made it out with your discharge.
