Hi, I've just started sitting my almost 17 month old daughter on the potty......she's acting ready, but I'm not sure I am! :) I'd like to sing a fun potty song to her, but don't know any and would love ones that worked for any of you. Any other early potty training advise would be great too. Thanks a million!!!!

What can I do next?

My son LOVES Elmo's potty time DVD. They have lots of potty songs on there.

Get the Potty Video!! Prudence goes to the potty and sings, "let's all go to the potty, potty, let's all go to the potty, potty NOW..."! There's a book too. Worked for us! :)

It is called "Once Upon a Potty" by Alona Frankel. You can get it from Amazon... there are books and videos for boys and girls. They are great!

I don't know why, but I used to always change the song " party all the time" to Potty all the time. I don't really sing the whole song just the chorus. :) They always had fun with it. It's by Eddie Murphy- can't believe he had a song. Here are the lyrics I found online...

Girl
I can't understand it why you want to hurt me
After all the things I've done for you.
I buy you champagne and roses and diamonds on your finger -
Diamonds on your finger -
Still you hang out all night
what am I to do?

My girl wants to party all the time

Party all the time
party all the time.
My girl wants to party all the time
party all the time.

She parties all the time - party all the time

She likes to party all the time - party all the time

party all the time - she likes to party all the time

party all the time.

Girl
I've seen you in clubs just hanging out and dancing.
You give your number to every man you see.
You never come home at night because you're out romancing.
I wish you bring some of your love home to me.

But my girl wants to party all the time
. . .
My girl wants to party all the time
. . .

Party
party
party she likes to party all the time.
She likes to party all the time -
She lets her hair down
she lets her body down:
She lets her body
she lets her body down.
Party all the time - do you wanna get any party
yeah.
Party all the time - party all the time.

Hi J.,

I don't know any potty songs, but what worked with my 2 was waving and saying goodbye to the poop (flushing was an issue because they were so proud of what they had 'made')

Goodluck!

"Bi-ig girls...They go pee pee (in the pot)..." heehee. She loved it.

Bear in the Big Blue House "Potty Time" video. It is the best and it has the catchiest songs-we have used it with 2 of our kids and plan on using it with our son. Yeah, he's old but its a good one-I promise. Sometimes we still hear our 7yr. old singing the songs as she is going to the bathroom. IT's sweet! Check Half Price Books HTH.

Well, my extended family laughed at me, but I sang this with both of my kids:

"I've been sittin on the potty, all the live long day.
I've been sittin on the potty just to pass the time away.
Can you hear the tee-tee falling, right down in the potty chair?
I've been sittin on the potty, Go -name- go!

-name- can you go? -name- can you go? -name- can you go go go potty? (repeat)"

The tune is probably pretty obvious... :-)

Well, my MIL sings this song..."Tommy went pee pee in the pot-ty, Tommy went pee pee in the pot-ty" and dances around like a goof. It's pretty funny. Or make one up yourself.

Potty trainig advice - she will do it when she is ready. You may be ready now, but she may not.

And if you are about to have another baby she may be "trained" by then but revert back to diapers once the baby comes and you'll be doing it all over again. I had my second like just weeks after my first turned 2 years old and my pedi even told me I could get him trained before the baby came, but sometimes kids revert back to old ways once a new baby comes along. So, not to discourage you, but you could end up training her twice.

My son literally woke up one morning and decided he didn't wear diapers or pull ups anymore. He wore big boy underwear and that was that. He was almost 3. I tried everything with him - rewards, stickers, silly songs, books, videos, underwear over his pull-ups...you name it. And none of it worked. He wasn't ready. So, now with my daughter I am not pushing it. I figure she will learn when she is ready and if that means she isn't ready until she is 3, then so be it. We all learn eventually, right? So my advice is to go on her schedule, not yours. It will save you both alot time and aggrevation in the end.

my kids like The Potty Song (www.pottysong.com). It's worked really well for them. We've had four potty trained using it and our fifth is almost done.
