Hi everyone, anyone knows a good pediatrician in Deltona, Debary, Orange city or Deland...even Lake mary, Sanford?

I actually take both my sons to 2 in Orange city, the problem is one is that one, (Central Florida Pediatrics) they listen to you, always have appt but never give medicine when they sick and ask you to keep bringing them and u know how expensive it is...
The other one (Community Medical Center) I have a great doctor in the clinic, but never have appt but they have walk in from 8-11 and i think 1:30 till 3pm and its always full, always takes me minimum 2hrs of wait, but they always take care of them, give them medicine and they get better fast.

My problem is that for me is hard to go to walk in when I work and my oldest is at school, and my husband works at night and we have one car, so I do need a doctor that has appts, listens, worries and gives them what they need w/out having to keep bringing them for nonsense. yesterday, I took my 1 year old (in his birthday) to the first clinic I mention previously w/high fever for the past 3 days and congestion and they just said oh, it will go away...its just a lil cold w/teething....SERIOUSLY!!!

So, do u have any recommendations??? please!!!

What can I do next?

Lake Mary Pediatrics - they are located in both Lake Mary and Orange City - Orange City by the Target and Kole's, off of Junior St., Lk Mary right off of Lake Mary Blvd in the Bay Tree Plaza. I love them. Particularly Dr. Alber (who left for a while but is back now) and Dr. Hillock. I actually am currently going to Central Fl Peds because my husband's insurance at work got changed a year ago and Lk Mary Ped's didn't take this new insurance - well insureance got changed again and I am switchiin ASAP; and BTW I concur with you - I ilke the Dr's at Cent FL Ped's, but they have no idea how expensive continuously coming back can be and I CANNOT STAND their front office staff. Lake Mary Ped's has been our pediatrician since I was PG with my 1st daughter - who is getting ready to turn 11 and I just loved them. Great bedside manner, wonderful nurses, wonderful front office peple...the whole package.

I take my son to Lake Mary Family Physicians. They are right off of Rinehart not too far from the Seminole Towne Center. The doctors are Kristy and Ed Magee. They are super nice and I love that it is like a "one stop shop" with Kristy.

i take my children to West Volusia Pediatrics. According to the hospital and others they are the best in Volusia Co. there are 3 drs and 1 NP. They have been in business since i was little, as that is where i went. Both of my sil's are in the medical field and they take their children there. they are open on saturdays and sundays for emergencies from 9-12. and they have a call in service (i believe) after hours. the nursing staff is very nice. i would suggest dr bell or kay the np. even dr. bernard. dr. reinersten doesn't believe in medicine for a fever that much. but i've only had him once, although he is very good and considerate also. just remember that a dr. can't give out medicine all of the time bc if they do children become resistant and it stops working and then they have to start getting steroids and all sorts of other stuff. they can run a higher fever if they are cutting teeth and also become congested a little with a runny nose and a cough. not to say that is what IS wrong with your little one, but it is something to keep in mind. i used to watch a little boy, that when he was teething, he seriously threw up with every step he took. it was terrible.

I didn't see what Wendy wrote except that she was also referring you to Lake Mary Pediatrics, so I just wanted to second her referral. I'm an rn myself, so consider myself to be very critical of docs, and I couldn't be happier with them. They are thorough and sincerely listen to your concerns. Dr Landis was listed among the top pediatricians in Central Florida last year. And their after hours clinic is amazingly convenient. Good luck

My son goes to Lake Mary in Orange city, I am fifty/fifty with them; we have acutally never seen a doctor there only the ARNP and one is great and thorough and the other comes in says hi, pokes around and is out in five minutes...because of this I am changing pediatricians
