I Need a Glider Recliner So I Can Sleep!
Just curious if anyone has done any comparison shopping for glider recliner's with an ottoman. I know we plan to buy one for the baby's room (baby arrives in July), but I need one now so I can catch some zzz's. I know they are fairly pricey in comparison to regular glider's, but I'm a bit greedy right now and I want both. :) ha. Thanks for your help ahead of time. If you have a website, a friend, a store, or other reference I would love to hear about it.

I don't know if the more expensive ones are better than the cheaper ones as they are built the same. I had one of the ones from Wal-mart and it lasted several years but none of them do well with moving a lot. They have them at wal-mart with the ottoman. Big Lots also has them and if you want a more expensive name brand one then Nebraska Furniture Mart. We have also bought a lot of furniture from Nebraska Furn Mart and love their quality furniture. They also have specials with 18-30 months interest free loans. We bought our whole house of furniture there on these plans for the past 3 years and almost have them paid off and have spent over 15,000.00 there but this furniture will last for many years as it is real wood and not the cheap stuff we used to buy. You can check out their website at www.NFM.com

We bought the cheap glider from Wal-Mart and it was lousy. Not enough padding in the seat which made it hard during recovery and the hard-board backing on the ottoman gave out in the first week. I don't think it's worth the money. (and I could never get the motion right with both the glider and the ottoman moving)
We had a rocking recliner in our livingroom and ended up moving it into the baby's room. It's been a blessing. I like the traditional rocking better than the glider - it's less expensive and you have more options.
Marcia Jacelone at Nebraska Furniture Mart will take good care of you. She's the only rep. we use anymore!

I used a leather recliner for the nursery and it has worked wonders through two children. There are a lot of options to match your decor and you can find some at reasonable prices.

We were able to get a last year model on sale at Babies R Us. What I like about ours is that it has the wing back (not sure if this is correct terminology) which allowed me to rest my head when nursing and was more comfortable for me (I am short). The newer models I saw while shopping for ours had just the straight back. That might be something to check out if you are needing it now to get some sleep. The ottoman came with our chair and also glides, which if I had to do over I would instead use a seditary foot stool (maybe just me because I am short, but the gliding foot stool does not help but is comfortable to rest my feet on).
