Hormones & Not Being Able to Lose Weight
After the birth of my 2nd child 7 year ago, I was able to lose all of my baby weight in 3 months, however, from the time he was 6 months old until he was 11 months old I gained 50lbs. I obviously was concerned by that and was told by my Dr. that I probably gained all of that weight because I had 2 small kids and ran a daycare and wasn't eating right...okay so I tried Weight Watchers...I lost 15 lbs in 3 months, but after that my weight loss stopped, even though I was following it to a T and working out with a personal trainer 5 days a week. For a bit I didn't diet or anything and ofcourse the weight came back. I next tried Nutri System, even though I thought the food was gross I trudged on and again lost 15 lbs and again weightloss stopped. I then went to my OB/GYN and told her my problems with not losing and she ran a series of blood work and told me that my testosterone level was high and other hormones were slightly off, she did prescribe Didrex (a weight loss drug) for 3 months, worked great I lost 35 lbs in 3 months, however after I stopped taking it the weight came back (which I figured would happen). Since then we have moved to Texas (from Maine, hubby's in the US Navy) and my new Dr. will not listen to me, her advice was to stop eating so much, even though I keep a food journal, and showed her what I eat she looked at it and snickered and was like yeah right I'm sure that's all you eat. I explained other symptoms of fatigue, hair loss(my hair falls out when I brush it, a lot more than usual), my hair went from being straight to curly (after son was born), facial hair (not like a man's, but I get waxed every week). I feel worse when I leave there. I never had a weigh issue before, after 1st child was born I was back to 125 in no time. If someone has some advice I'd appreicate it. Changing Dr's is tough since hubby is military, not many Dr's in area accept insurance. Thanks in advance :)

Find a new Dr! I have thyroid problems and those were my initial symptoms. I also developed Poly Cystic ovary syndrome and the high level of testoterone is an issue with that. Find a good endocrinologist.

I know a lot of people that havelost weight on the Cinch inch loss program, Check out the website below because it will give you a Free Analysis and you can check out the science behind the products and program.
There have people that lost weight but the program is about losing inches because fat takes up more room than muscle. This program allows you to maintain 100% muscle mass and that is great! Please let me know what you think once you reveiw it. I went on it and went from a 16 to a 12 in a few months. I still use the product because they taste great.

I'm not sure exactly where you live, but I recently changed doctors and see Dr. Gerald Ray in Mansfield. Best decision I ever made. Other doctors weren't listening to me and he did. If he's close to you, see if he'll take your insurance and run to his office!

I've heard great things about the FEM Center. They have several offices in the metroplex. They also have a website that details what they do. Sounds like they'd be perfect to help you. Good luck!

Get a new dr. That dr sounds like an *choice word censured*.
And is after only patient numbers and cashflow.
Are you keeping a journal of everything...mood/emotions, other things different?

You need to ask them to do a blood panel to check your T3 amd T4 thyroid. Your best bet is to go to an endocrinologist, your insurance should pay for that. Thyroid issues will cause fatigue, weight gain/loss, and hair loss.

K D,
I am surprised your Dr. didn't give you something to help balance your hormones. I am an Independent Consultant with Arbonne International. Arbonne products are botanically based and healthy for you. Arbonne does offer a Hormone Balancing cream that I have seen give women great success. I can TOTALLY relate to your story in so many ways...I have a 2yr old, 3yr old and a 7yr old. I developed hypo-thyroidism after my 2nd child and battle my weight and hair loss and fatigue. I am also a Navy wife! Not sure if you go to a military Dr. or not, but when I went back to my Dr. because I was having the hair loss and fatigue AGAIN I was told it was just part of getting older, ha! Sounds like you definitely should have your thyroid checked as well.
Anyway, if you are interested in learning more about the hormone balancing cream, please message me. Good luck to you!

First: dump the Dr. Yes it may be hard to find another, but you have thyroid symptoms (personal experience) and you need to get on medication, stop eating all sugars and no caffeine. Also, don't expect to lose weight, even with exercising. sorry for the bad news.
