Where are you located in the Metroplex? It is always best to have an agent near you, if possible. We have been with State Farm for home, auto & personal insurance for years and years. They seem to be the MOST reliable and stable insurance in Texas. A few years back, many of the insurance companies started to pull out of Texas and some just cancelled or didn't renew some homeowner's insurance. One of those companies was Farmers. State Farm is the only larger company that stood by its customers. If you live in Plano, Addison, Richardson or parts of Dallas, I have a good agent recommendation from you.

We have State Farm! I have had their car insurance for a long time. We also had them in our apartment for renter's insurance. We just recently bought a house and they were the only people we would even consider.

He works for Farmers Insurance. He does a great job. I had to call him a couple of times cause my husband forgot to put the new insurance cards in the car while I had to get it inspected.
He will fax them over quickly. We have both auto and home insurance with him and we don't pay that much.

Since this is a new home, and I am an Insurance Agent would only reccomend Dallas National Insurance, it is the only company where you can get a HO-B will full replacement cost, water coverage and Loss of use and A++ Rating. I sell Dallas National but I am in Kaufman County and your in FT.W., I would call an Indenpent Agent and ask if they sell "Atlas General or Dallas National Insurance Homeowners Insurance" I would not use State Farm, Farmers,(state farm and farmers were the first to pull out) or Allstate because about 6yrs ago there was a mold issue in Texas and State Farm, Farmers and Allstate pulled out of Texas and Cancelled all there policy and left ever one looking for new coverage. Dallas National Did not do that, and if they would pull out so easly the first time, if something arose again they would more than likely pull out again. Welcome to Texas! Hope you enjoy it here!! If you are a member of either Sam's Club or Costco they have insurance coverage for their members. You call an 800 number and they will connect you with coverage for your specific location. We also changed our car insurance to the same company as our homeowners insurance (which is with a company called Travelers that we got through Sam's Club) and saved a lot of money by having both home and auto with the same company. Good luck.

We shopped rates online at www.intelliquote.com and www.esurance.com to find the best rate. We have Lloyd's. I think you can sign up for a policy online when your search is done, but we called the "winning" company and spoke with an agent.

I was using an Insurance company my mortgage company had suggested. I had been using Farmers for my two vehicles and when I started using them for my home also I saved lots of money. Not just because of that but because they don't have a middle man so that saves on cost. Also, I think they are the only ones that cover foundation.
