For the last 3 days my infant has been extra fussy, staying up for very long periods of time. fidgety and just in a state of unrest. I have suffered from anxiety in the past. Is it possible that I have passed this on to my child? I feel awful.

What can I do next?

I have a 3 mth old also and she's been more fussy this week as well. I think mine has an upset tummy and she has thrush so I'm dealing with that. I don't have an advice just know that your not alone and hopefully your little one will be feeling better soon!!

Relax...Relate....Release!! Congrats on the new little bundle of love.....you are only going through what is normal....so dont freak out!! Yes I would say check the obvious...but I would first say try warm sink baths, finishing with a nice baby lotion massage and a warm bottle/breast. One thing my son liked as an infant was being wrapped like a burrito, it gave him that snug feeling of being in the womb( try it), while the baby is having their moment...sing "you are my sunshine"...or what ever also sooths you at the same time. So far as the being fidgity and not wanting to sleep....try keeping them up for longer periods of time instead of letting them cat-nap....and J.F.Y.I...thier nap time is your nap time... Now..being stressed....when your sweetie pie gets home(after he unwinds)...let him know his little ball of sugar missed him....thats when you need to unwind with a nice hot bath( you must find ways to relax in as little time as possible!!!) Last....PCS..you have time...dont let it get to you, it will get done...it will!! Again.....Relax..Relate...Release!!! Enjoy being a new mom,do what you can & let God handle the rest....and if you are in the Heidelberg area...let me know, I will help you with your packing....God Bless!!!

9 weeks is around the time they hit a growth spurt, too. Phoenix was always extra fussy around that time and didn't sleep well. I would check on colic as well. They have gas drops that can help relieve the gas. I hope it gets better for you!!

First thing first, take a deep breath. It is perfectly normal for babies to get colic. Check to see if the baby has a hard tummy, it could be gas that is causing some of the fuss. The baby is going to pick up on your anxiety and when that happens it makes everything worse. Check for teething, it happens sometimes in the very first month or so of life. you can do this by letting baby chew on your knuckles. Baby could be having growing pains, or just feels likes crying. There are lots of reasons that cause babies to react in this way. Once again it is all normal. Don't worry, if youa re concerned contact the doctor. My daughter spent the first 18 months of her life in a screaming fit. My husband would wrap her tight and hold her close to his face making shh sounds. It has been found that some babies still like the sounds that remind them of ther mothers womb. Get neighbors or friends to help with the PCS. Take a little time for mommy, and relax. Good luck with everything and have a safe PCS.
