Hi everyone, I have a big dilemma. My husband and I have been dealing with marriage problems for a while. He just moved out and I find myself in a very scary position. I have a part time job at a golf course and have been told that as soon as it gets hot I won't be needed there. I am on a waiting list to start nursing school but other than that I have been a stay at home mom with my darling boys who are 7 and 4.
I really need some idea's or leads on what I can do to find a decent job. Divorce seems imminent and I obviously can't live off of just child support.

ANY IDEA'S ARE WELCOME!!! I'M SO NERVOUS!!!

What can I do next?

My heart goes out to you! I've been a SAHM for more than 15 years so I'm sorry that I don't have a whole lot of ideas with little ones. I was thinking that maybe you could get a job at a school, that way you'd have time off when your kids had time off. But then again it is almost summer. You could start off as a crossing guard and then you'd be able to work toward the office work. That is what my MIL did. You could also babysit in your home or clean your neighbors or friends/families houses. Just some ideas maybe to get you brainstorming. My prayers are with you! Good luck!

I can't imagine how scary it must be to find yourself in that position. At least your current employer was nice enough to give you a heads up. If I were in your position, I would just start putting out a resume to any business that might interest you. Even if your work experience is not current, you can provide a cover letter explaining that while you have been a stay at home mom for the past X years, you are eager to rejoin the workforce and that you are willing to learn new skills quickly etc. In my experience, smaller or privately owned businesses may provide better/quicker feedback and even if they don't need new staff at the moment, it's not a bad thing to have a resume on file at a few different establishments. Or you could look online at some larger companies to see if they're hiring at one of their corporate offices-- John C Lincoln, American Express, Discover Card, Costco, Petsmart, Honeywell. I wish you the best of luck! I'm sure something will come your way!
