Hi, I am thinking of starting my 6 yr old in gymnastics. Has anyone ever tried the gymnastics program run by Northrup Gymnastics at the Rosemeade Recreation Center? Any other suggestions for Gymnastics classes would also be helpful. We are in zipcode 75010.

Thanks.

My daughter took there from Coach Tony from age 3-6. We left there this fall and moved to North American. I live in the same zip as you so I can tell you either place would be close. North American is a little more expensive, we pay $61 a month, but all the new things she has learned while being there has made it worth it. I will tell you since your daughter is already 6 Coach Tony will not be her teacher most likely he will have one of his assistance (which are usually high school or young college girls) teach them. We loved it when we started but as my daughter moved up coach Tony worked with them less and less and the other girls did not really focus on the correct way to do things. I do not expect my daugter to be an olympian but if she wants to take gymnastics I wanted her to be at a place that taught the right way to do the moves so she would not hurt herself. I can tell you I know of about 10 other people who have left Rosmeade in the past year and moved to North American. We are VERY happy there. Hope this helps.

If it is inside the Rosemeade rec center than my daughter has been there. I loved it and she did too. My daughter can be a bit shy but the coach was very nice and made her feel at ease in the class.

My kids love the couch and doing gymnastics at the Rosemeade Center. I have even brought in two more of their friends to join and their families love it too. It is a small group so lots of one on one and the girls really look up to the couch. Hope you try it out!

We're big fans of The Palaestra. Although my daughter is only 2, Miss Becki has a huge gym with all of the equipment and she's a great instructor. Here's the website so you can check it out:

It's actually in Farmer's Branch, right on the Carrollton border. Have fun whatever you decide!
