We have a son with growth hormone deficiency. If your son has this (which requires some lengthy bloodwork and an MRI to diagnose) and you choose to treat it, it's a nightly shot.

If you think this may be the case, you may want to ask to join out the Magic List on Facebook. Here's the external website: http://www.magicfoundation.org/www/docs/108/growth_hormon...

Are you seeing a Pediatric Endocrinologist???
If not, then you should be.
Only an Endocrinologist, should be consulted with. Not a Pediatrician.
Only a Pediatric Endocrinologist, can address all facets of this, and per the side effects or needs, for growth hormones, upon a child and the outcomes of it or if it is, a medical necessity.

How big are you and your husband? If you and your husband are both small, he is probably the size he should be. If you are both tall, and he is very small, growth hormones will help. Although kids are. It generally receptive to the daily injections.

We visited an endocrinologist very informative however, we just couldn't see putting our son thru the shots and the side effects. He had an awful time just giving drawing blood. We will make periodic visits to see if he maintains 2inches. Puberty hasn't hit so we still have alittle more time. Lots of things to consider if he really isn't identified as dwarfism.

I have a granddaughter that is very small also. My daughter took her to their doctor and they are going to give her some shots of growth hormone if she remains small.

I don't know much about it becayuse they are handling it well. I'm only answering this to let you know medicine is available to give your child a chance of getting his growth up to the norm.

Good luck to you and yours.
