Good Primary Care Physician Recommendation?

I live in Coppell and need a recommendation for a good primary care physician (for myself and my husband). I am using the Coppell Family Medicine Clinic (on Denton Tap Rd) and do not care for them. Is there anyone else that would be nearby that possibly has 2-3 doctors on staff vs. several doctors in one office? Also possibly someone who specializes in allergy and asthma. Thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

Hi!
My sister-in-law lives in Coppell, and she uses Michelle Fowers - She always has great things to say about her - and the others in the practice.

If you are looking for a PCP that specializes in Pediatrics with a fabulous Asthma program, I recommend MDPA in Coppell. Dr. Kincaid is WONDERFUL! They have offices in Lewisville and Flower Mound also with extended hours for those Murphy's Law things that only happen when the office is closed. But be prepared for those things to start happening only on Sunday since it is the only day they are closed :o)

I can highly recamend Doctor Bobby Chu and his PA Cindy Grady. They are located in Flower Mound in the little strip mall on Main Street/Timber Creek. There are only the 2 of them as well as their office staff. When you call you get a person, no recorder telling you to push #1 for this or what ever. They both are very family oriented, they take the time to talk to you about what ever you are seeing them about. Cindy was with another doctor and left to join Doctor Chu, when she did my husband and I talked and it took the length of time for me to drive to Flower Mound to do the paper work to transfer our records. We have been trying for years to get my Mother-in-law to get set up with a family doctor and not count on her cardiologist for everything. After getting aquanted with Dc.Chu when my husband was in the hospital she made an appointment to see him and had her records transvered as well.
Our oldest daughter and son-in-law see's Cindy as well. As a lot of husbands both of these men are very difficult to get to go to the doctor. But since they have been seeing Cindy Grady/Dc.Chu when they need a doctor it isn't nearly as bad.
Their phone number is ###-###-####. The only time I never get a human on the phone when I call is after hours.
Good Luck.

I do know of someone who has had great success treating allergies and asthma. He is a Naturopathic doctor in Lewisville. Most people have been able to get off their inhalers and their allergy medicine. If you are open to natural methods its worth a call- his office number is ###-###-####.

I use Dr. Ogden at Lake Lewisville Pediatrics at Old Orchard and 3040. I've been very happy with him and the nurses. My sister has also gone to him with her kids for 7 years.
http://llpediatrics.com/ I've heard that Dr. Levy there too is great!

I feel your pain. I have been round and round with these Drs.and there have been alot. I finally got tired of my granddaughter constant coughing and all they do is try prescription meds for allergies (which do not work, just cause ungodly side effects) and put her on breathing treatments. She doesn't have asthma, but could develop it THEY SAY. How terrible what else could she develop from taking something she doesn't need??
Anyway, I found this awesome Dr., His name is Howard Lang. He's a DO Family medicine, allergy and environmental medicine. He is located at 4201 Brown Trail in Colleyville, ###-###-####.
After checking my granddaughter thoroughly and doing blood work he told me to take her off the breathing treatments and trash all the other meds she was taking. She has allergies and once we get to the bottom of those everything will be fine.
She has had testing and we have found several things she's allergic to. The good thing the way she is treated, no side effects only doing better and better. The coughing is almost gone completely.
Sorry, back to the information.
He and his son are the only Drs in his office, his brother does the allergy testing there in the office also.
The only draw back is that they do not take any insurance. It's all out of pocket, but you can take the receipt and file it yourself.
It's a bit rough but alot better because he doesn't have the insurance companies dictating how he runs his practice. He can spend as much time as needed with you and alot of other things you don't get from MOST other doctors.
Hope this helped.
S.

Hi R.,
I too used to see the doctors at Coppell Family Medical on Denton Tap and there were a couple of doctors there that I really didn't like too much. Unfortunately, my primary care physician, Dr. Steven Anthony (Tony) Swaldi, was very hard to get in to see there, so I often had to see these other doctors. ugh.

Now that Dr. Swaldi has opened his own practice (new "Old Town" offices in old Coppell at 413 W Bethel Rd, Ste 300), though, I just love it. Yes, there is only one other doctor there. But, I've hardly ever had trouble getting in to see him...even in an emergency...and he has a wonderful physicians assistant, which I had to see only one time.

Anyway, I just love Dr. Swaldi. He's very friendly, laid back, and LISTENS well (which is often hard to find). He is a General Practitioner though, not a specialist (sounds like you want a PCP that is a specialist in asthma?). I will tell you that a couple of years ago, he's the one who diagnosed my asthma. But, he did refer me to a specialist...Dr. Joseph Surdacki (Plano)...probably because I wanted to get cleared to continue doing Scuba diving, which is a huge love of mine.

You should check him out. His number is ###-###-####.

Good luck!
D.
